    hey there

I wonder if theres a new BIS list for 7.0.3 and for leveling start in Legion. Might I be wrong if the Core gets better agin once our artefact weapon gets unlocked?

    thank you

I miss 2 things, the first being by far the biggest grievance:
    1: Survivability
    2: The "utility feel"

@1: The lack of survivability is glaringly apparent when doing e.g. Throne of Kiljaeden. Used to be able to pull a good deal of mobs, and between DR's, self-heals and puppies, stuns etc, I could always keep myself going.

Now we have very low DR (no idea if that's a general thing across classes), and our healing costs mana, which we get nothing but baseline regen for, as far as I can see. So We are squishy, and can cast 5-6 healing surges (that heal for nothing, and nothing * artifact extra % = still nothing, at least if the numbers FinalBoss showed in 2nd pass vid still hold).

I generally find I need to be very scaredy-cat of pulling more than a few mobs, as they just wreck you very fast.

That's really, really frustrating, and as far as I can see, this is only worse at 110. Any thoughts on this from beta players?

@2: The utility thing is just a style of gameplay I feel like I miss. I miss managing totems, and instead I manage self-buffs, which just doesn't feel exciting (except aiming Crash Lightning, which I like, but for which I really, really wish they had made a telegraph animation, both for the initial crash lightning and the following cleave, but I guess I'm spoiled from Wildstar which I've raided in until 6 months ago).

We still have some utility, and I don't know what other classes feel like in this regard. I really, really like the roar-totem for example, so maybe I'm just whining because of @1 making me feel the sad feelz. Any thoughts?
All classes take a load more damage now, even hunter pets, unless specced tenacity, are going down fast. Tanks and tank pets have durability, the others, not so much, but I can tell you that my horribly geared shaman in beta (it was a previous char copy) at ilvl 647 was able to quest just fine in Highmountain and solo vignette mobs with the help of the trusty dogs. Healing surge healed me for 28k, 56k crits, and I tried to pace the heals, because if you spam them you cast about 6 before being oom, but in solo you do what you have to do to survive and secure a kill and tend to ignore max dps rotations, so spending 20m to have instant heals felt good and not a burden.

At low gear levels it's not going to be a steamrolling experience, but for those with heroic or mythic raid gear, it's probably going to be a lot easier. Pre patch scaling is fundamentally crap and all over the place, I'd ignore it if I were you.

Without calculating it, I'd say no. It would mean that you're going to be Maelstrom starved when your Stormbringer procs happen.

I'm currently only using it at >80MP or during wolves/BL on CD because there's hardly a resource issue then.

As long as you're not capping on Maelstrom and keep on generating (obviously), you shouldn't feel the need to use it on CD. Fight specifics of course change your approach (slightly).

I'm curious when playing with ascendance would it be better to maybe wait a few seconds (Id say 5 if using windsong) to see if you get any stormbringer procs before actually using it? I'm finding I get extremely un lucky sometimes and can only get 2 windstrikes off.

From Wordup's sheet: "You can also consider Empowered Stormlash in group play too, as it can outperform Tempest in those situations." Does thais mean that emp. stormlash is better than Tempest when in, say, 5man dungeon group? Will this change in Legion with Stormstrike-oriented artifact traits?

It depends what you want right now. Tempest offers better burst potential for priority adds, for example. Overall Emp Stormlash is on par if not even slightly better overall in groups. I actually run Stormlash right now. In a 5 man I would stick to Tempest tbh because stuff doesn't stay alive as long and you'll get more burst out of it.

In 5 mans, tempest works great due to the rng risk reward and downtime between packs.

For raids, I've definitely noticed that empowered stormlash is a decently higher damage output in single target, especially with our current maelstrom levels being so low, and stormbring procs being low, due to missing artifact traits. In AoE I think Tempest probably pulls back ahead due to higher burst cleave potential (plus you're more likely pooling maelstrom much more due to CL used on CD).

Just from my personal experience and log browsing, no hard math behind it:

Do you have any more detailed information on this? If its 120 degrees, and 8 yards per side, then am I right that the forward depth is only ~4.6 yards? (http://imgur.com/a/1itn7). I'm confused because the spell effect of Crash Lightning says 8 yard radius, and that leads me to wonder if Crash Lightning has a different cone or area of effect.

And how does the cleave work? Is it such that any enemy inside the cone receives the cleave, regardless of which target I actually hit?

I think it is more like a half circle in front of you, where your character would be in the middle of the straight line part.
    Everything that is, is alive.

cant wait to see what hekili's addon will look like and play like

that being said im loving the fact hekili's weak aura for enhance currently has no bugs / lua errors (some of the warlock ones going around have a few bugs)

Do you think its the red dashed arc or the yellow solid arc? I'm just trying to reconcile the blue post about what it is vs what Wordup described. Also, you think the central angle of the cone starts somewhat behind our character, so that our character is somewhere inside of this cone?

How accurate (or inaccurate) is the Icyveins guide? I'm inclined to distrust it but I don't really have any clue where else to look right now. But seeing them list Crash Lightning as part of the single target rotation feels instinctually wrong, since it doesn't trigger the bonus damage on Stormstrike unless you hit multiple targets. It feels like it was written months ago before the series of tuning nerfs and fixes to Enh that got rid of retard lightning build to begin with.

All of the stuff on Icy Veins is mostly correct, for level 100. And crash lightning is part of the single target rotation because it has better damage per maelstrom with crashing storm, than lava lash.

    It is mostly accurate.
Crash Lightning is part of the single target rotation, since it has a higher DPM than Lava Lash. Also, Crashing Storm is usually the Talent you pick, which makes it better for singletarget.

Depressing. Why are the least fun talents always the best for every spec?

Desperately hope at least Hot Hands pulls top over Boulderfist with the legendary bracers available.

I far prefer Boulderfist, so I hope it doesn't.

Sorry, I don't want my carpal tunnel to be worse and my hand to be numb by the first or second hour of raiding because of playing with Rockbiter. To me enhancement is the perfect class in legion, any issue with it is numbers tuning such as the aoe.

Besides, Windsong is pretty close so it's not so bad, and in terms of rockbiter builds Windsong is super fun. Pair it with Ancestral Swiftness and your character is just flailing in a frenzy, it's great.

If I have a bone to pick, it's with enhancement survivability. I want my Shamanistic Rage back....and ancestral guidance.

Feral Lunge should also be a 15-20 sec cd at most, 30 sec cd is pretty bad for this skill. Wish they'd brought back gust of air and removed Rainfall, what the hell were they thinking replacing Gust of Air with Rainfall in a mobility tier...

    Hi all,

So i am getting my head (or at least trying to) around the spec.. Quick question.. how does AoE work now. is it "drop crash lightning, and manipulate mobs to be in a cone in front of you and pray for storm bringer procs"

Also in terms of true AoE, which of the talents would you take.?

Be in a frontal cone of mobs, crash lightning, spam stormstrike and lava lash in between. Keep spamming crash lightning with crashing storm talents on cd.

Doom wolves for serious aoe. In terms of talents, crashing storm for stationary pulls, otherwise you could try fury of air though it's kinda wimpy right now. If you really need burst and don't mind mob displacement, sundering works.

I do wish they made sundering a stun instead of a knockback.

Windsong being comparable is appealing, thanks. I hadn't really thought to consider it. Particularly tempting for Hailstorm.

General question for anybody but I'd like a touch more clarification as to what would make Crashing Lightning more DPM than Lava Lash single target? Right now with... super super casual testing, Crash Lightning his for ~9.6k while Lava Lash hit for ~24k. ~500 DPM vs ~800. Obviously this changes when you add in Crashing Storm of course. So Crash Lightning on the single target build is entirely predicated around Crashing Storm? I get that, unfortunately, that's the only really competitive talent at the moment though. And of course there are two traits that substantially buff Lava Lash, vs one that buffs Crash Lightning in a sorta questionable fashion on single target (+6% damage to one Stormstrike).

Frankly I guess I'm just curious how up-to-date most of this information is for level 100. It feels like they're taken without the last round of PTR hotfixes taken into account, I guess.
