Thunderbolt Fantasy Ep 3
Yup; this is gonna be a good ole' fashioned heroic fantasy. Gen also addresses headscratcher plot points this episode as well, which was nice. It helps that the show lampshades itself, almost a reassurance that the writer knows what he's doing. Can't wait for the next episode!
re:zero 16 Just what the fuck was that thing. Everything seems to go against Subaru this time around. I really wonder how he'll manage to save everyone again.
No 1 likes this girl?
Don't sweat the details!!!
Hitori no shita ep 3 - Well, that was probably the cutest necromancer I've ever seen.
Raildex is a very popular series. Overall Index is much better, but anime wise I'd put Railgun higher. Railgun has Misaka Mikoto as a main character, while she's a side character in Index. I definitely recommend checking it out, and a lot of people (you can ignore the shit taste people calling it bad in here) love it. Railgun S2 was phenomenal the first 15 episodes, and even the rest was pretty good.
Pretty much everyone wants an Index S3 that knows what they're talking about.
I was honestly hating that arc because everything was falling apart but suddenly it become one of the best arcs if not the best in terms of character development.
Then of course later on the author ass-pulls it and points out that it was on accident and the Empress offers her to switch to the right one. I thought she had switched to her headband for the match against Arata but then it shows later on that she had consciously chose to wear his headband for that match. When she took it off and threw it around Taichi's neck at the end, I cried like a little girl.
Yeah this part was intense as fuck too. I wonder how far the Manga will go, they're already third years so this was their last year at the Karuta club anyway. I think the author will end it after the next Meijin/Queen title matches, with an epilogue showing Chihaya becoming a Karuta teacher. The other option would be following them even after high-school, which is also possible but I find less likely.
My thoughts exactly. The Meijin turned out to be a much more interesting character than the Karuta association wanted us to believe he was. And I honestly think he's stronger than Shinobu and only lets she win against him because it's funny or something like this, that guy is literally a monster. A monster loved by everyone "close" to him minus the Karuta association for some reason. The guy was clearly only repeating his last University year because he wanted to become an eternal Meijin first.
I really hated the whole "two of the three MCs left the Karuta club" arc but it's lead to some really interesting bits of story, surprisingly enough a good bit of it revolving around the meijin.
All that "image" bullshit doesn't make sense. Yeah he pictured himself playing like his grandfather for his entire life and now suddenly he can because he's gotten tall enough... Like... What the fuck? I wouldn't say that he didn't practice or anything but Taichi and Chihaya, both shit in the beginning, showed way greater progress than Arata. Chihaya already proved that she can beat him when she's playing 100% (or 120% for that matter, that game wasn't normal.), and I'm pretty sure Taichi would give him trouble too after his special training with the king himself. Taichi is becoming very scary for a while.
I'm glad Shinobu is getting fleshed out more because she's such a quirky character. I'm really hoping she hands Arata's ass to him; he's the only character I actively dislike. He's just always been "that guy with no personality that's never really had to work for his success in karuta that likes Chihaya." He's the closest thing to a Mary-Sue this manga has and I hate it.
Arata can have Shinobu, I'm shipping Chihaya with Taichi as well. Guy spent his entire life trying, he always put her before him and I honestly want him to win. Taichi was shit when he was a kid but he's decent now.
I get he's got the pedigree and played with a meijin on a regular basis growing up, so he should be good. He just feels like a tacked-on speed bump for Taichi's path to the meijin title and to Chihaya's heart.
FFS, I should probably read your entire post before getting hyped to reply. We're basically posting the same thing =p
Taichi is getting kinda scary. His character-building has been fantastic since he left the club. I'm really interested to see what he's learning from the meijin. I'm also really looking forward to seeing that TV special that he filmed with Suou and Shinobu come into play later, when Chihaya watches it. You know she's going to record it and study it and become even more of a karuta monster than she's already turning out to be.
Chihaya will surely go crazy watching it. She'll think "Taichi is ahead of me again!!!"
One of my favourite characters is Sakurazawa-sensei, and she's far from being a main character.Best thing about this manga is how new characters get introduced all the time and author is able to characterize them and get you invested in them to some degree almost right away. I wanna rewatch the show now.
