Well yeah, just about any GPU will make WoW run more smoothly than a 6850. :P

Well the new Titan X (yes it's named exactly the same as the old one) just got announced.

    http://www.overclock.net/t/1606550/t...nvidia-titan-x

    Pascal GP102
    3584 cores (+40% vs GTX1080) @ 1.5GHz
    12B Transistors (+67% vs GTX1080)
    11 TFLOPs (+24% vs GTX1080)
    12GB GDDR5X, 384-bit
    480 GB/s mem bandwdith (50% more vs GTX1080)
    250 watts - 1x 8-pin + 1x 6-pin
    Price $1,200 USD

Urgh. Not even GP100 and lacking HBM2, but $1200...fuck me sideways. In any case, as expected it will destroy performance charts and most likely be the card finally worthy of 1440p@144hz or 4k@60hz monitors in demanding games.

It's weird, but AMD should probably consider a tiny division for CPU coolers. The one on Nano was great, and the Wraith is also pretty damn good. Not noted in the review though is that wraith and other C style cooler also helps cool the mobo's VRM and stuff.

Any odds of actual async compute on the Titan X?

Nah, it's just got more horsepower so it can brute-force its way through stuff. And they'll re-release it as the 1080ti in 4 months time for 400 dollars less.

Yeah lol, I wonder if people have been paying attention enough these past few years with all the previous Titans and X80-Ti variations since, what, the 780 Ti(?) to wait this time around, or if they'll just go OOO OOOO DUH BEST OUT RIGHT NOW BUY!

    Probably the latter, sadly.

Capacitors in the cable connectors to smooth out the power delivery.

If (generic) you needs a graphics card and opts for a Titan-X, I'd be wondering:

    * What are you upgrading from?
    * What games / programs are you running that would benefit from it?
    * What type of setup do you have (4k+ resolution, 120hz+ refresh, etc)
    * How long do you go between upgrades?

I typically overbuild my computers a bit for my use case - but that's also because I know that I don't upgrade them very often. (For example, I have a i7 3770k, GTX 680, 32gb of RAM, a 256gb SSD, and 3x 2TB drives (two of which for video recording). That was built about 3 years ago, I think?)

I've been seriously considering upgrading my graphics card for the past 6 months or so, but we're on the cusp of new graphics APIs gaining traction and AMD's Vega. Do I choose the brute force approach that works well with older APIs (Nvidia) or go all in with a new architecture what exploits the newer APIs at the cost of the older (AMD). So far, I've chosen option 3 - procrastinate. :P

But the review said it's amazingly built! :O

A lot of current low ripple PSU uses in cable cap, which is annoying and bulky to work with.

    Wait...

So is it good then that they don't use the in-cable caps?

    I'm so confused.

Because that power supply kind of makes me want to upgrade mine.

Mine is good, but that one is great. Mine doesn't look quite as nice, either. It would go great with the white and black theme and those all black cables would certainly look nicer! :O

It's good thing they don't need to to still achieve same or better results.
