We have the right to bear arms under the Constitution not to drive trucks. (Don't get me wrong we should have both but my argument is that just because a minority of people abuse something to kill people doesn't mean we shouldn't let anyone else have said thing especially when it says in our founding law that we have the right to own a gun).

Coincidentally both Abortions and Gay Marriage is permitted under the Constitution yet members of the Republican Party want to have those rights removed. So is your support of the Constitution only the parts about guns?

*Using Right Wing Propaganda Websites to back up your arguments doesn't help your cause*

I support both Gay Marriage and Abortion so your argument is moot. I'm not a stereotypical republican.

    Democrat.

I grew up Republican because that's what my family and most everyone around here is. My stepdad would always watch Fox News and I would here the same "dumb liberal Democrats who are ruining this nation" shtick every night. That's all I ever knew until I started watching "The Daily Show" and was introduced to the other side of the argument. I saw that Democrats weren't the evil "nation destroying" party I kept hearing and that the Republican's weren't always the "patriotic" party of the U.S. The Democrats have their flaws and not all Republicans are bad, I just lean towards the Democrats more often than not on most issues.

This recent election has me equally pissed off at each party though.....

I do not have a right to vote yet, but if I did, I would vote for candidates, not for parties. Meaning I would skip Congress elections and only go for Presidential ones. I prefer Republicans' stance on economy generally, but I can't stand their social policies. While with Democrats I'm okay with both, but merely okay. IF I had to vote for one, I would vote Democrat, I suppose: I would never put a vote for a party that preaches about "Christian values" in a country in which religious pluralism is a widely accepted concept. Not to mention that I am as areligious as one can get.

Sure you can choose your own political beliefs. The problem is the GOP Platform as a whole is against those Freedoms as long as its not the freedom to bear arms. If you have something that shows the Democrats are out to ban guns (like we've heard so many times before) I'd like to see it.

Democrats want to restrict gun rights this is something I do not agree with, it's as simple as that

However, I'm not a one issue voter either. I disagree with the republicans on things but I disagree with the democrats on a lot more. Thus my vote goes to the people who I find myself agreeing with more.

EXACTLY! This guy Goddamn gets it!

The right to drive trucks wasn't in the constitution because......(BIG HINT: all they had at the time were horse drawn wagons....)

And the right to bear arms was in there because.....?

I.. I don't know anymore. Used to be pretty plainly left and still lean that way, but hell - at this point, I have no clue anymore.

Independent, but I will never vote Republican as long as they keep pushing their idiotic social policies. Democrats are really trying to catch up on that, though, so who knows.

Love of guns, nationlism, austerity economics aren't great either.

Not registered to either party but recently I've leaned more Dem. Frankly, they've been the only adults in the room for several years. Not to say the Dems can do no wrong, but the GOP is a disgrace in its current iteration.
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it.

None of these address what I said at all. states that are more strict have fewer gun related crimes.

    "more guns less violence"

violence is down across the fucking board ; however, states with strict gun laws still have FEWER GUN RELATED CRIMES than states with lax laws.

All you have to do is look at most of the responses here and you would see why I am a conservative. Every Liberal response is a shot across the bow or a Republican, or some sort of disgraceful put down. Its in the Democratic platform. We they do not agree with you, ATTACK THEM!!!

Sounds like a dumb reason... "I don't like what some people say" also what's the republican platform? "No gay rights, because my God says you aren't equal. No you can't have an abortion even though you were raped becuae it goes against my God and my beliefs. Fuck welfare, fuck social spending, even thoguh my constituates are the poorest and make up the largest number of people actually receiving money from the government. Why should we care about education?"

What's restricting gun rights to you? Demanding universal background checks?
