Get called on BSing, retreat from a thread.
Typical.
I find it HILARIOUS that you think people debating with ACTUAL facts is rage and anger. No one is getting upset or salty because people want to rush to max level. Most of us do not see a point to it. Unless you are a pet class, a tank you at lv105 wearing lv100 gear fighting lv105 mobs. And no if you skip the first 5 levels, remaining quests and relics do not scale up to 110 rewards.
If a person is the first one on a server to get to 110, who is going to know? Only the person at 110. Oh wait, they will make a post on MMO-C/Reddit/official forums to say, "I am 110 and I have nothing to do!"
This is absolutely worth doing on my Demon Hunter, for a couple reasons:
1. Leveling zones are going to be zerged... particularly since apparently every profession quest takes place in one zone.
2. WoD and Legion zones will be on different servers.... WoD zones will probably be more stable during the initial leveling rush
3. I'd get extremely rapid access to both of my spec's artifact quests (also, I see no reason why you can't just do your artifact quest first, and then do this leveling trick)
4. TALENTS.... For DH's particularly this is a big deal, as they only have 2 talents @ 100.... and their biggest survivability boost as havoc comes at 104.
5. This saves me time pushing a main, so I can then focus on leveling any alts (though to be fair here, I'm not entirely sure Alts are even going to be viable this expansion)
6. And it would help me stand out as a DH, which in turn should help get into a decent guild (I've taken raiding off since Cata)
Basically this enables me to do everything on the class faster, save for the pathfinder meta....which is time gated anyhow and will be completed long before Legion flying becomes a thing regardless.
Amen to this. I've seen people making these claims and even tried it once but honestly didn't enjoy it. I'll take my time on my new main (DH) and 2 primary alts (guardian druid and prot pally) and level at my own pace enjoying the new zones, quests and "feel" to the game play. Once those 3 are maxed on level and on their way as far as rep goes then I might speed rush through with my 8 other level 100 alts.

@Hyve - thanks for the tip about the 2nd monitor. I work as public education IT and have nearly 30 monitors laying around my office in various spots and I highly doubt my boss would throw a fit if I "borrowed" one for home use to act in this fashion. Heck before my wife left as a teacher she used a printer at home and printed not just school related stuff but personal stuff and never once was a fit thrown by anyone.

People made the same claims in WoD. They still looked like idiots running around with MoP gear like the cloak that people thought was better except the proc is what made it so good and that scaled down big time after 90.
Only the top mythic raiders will get to hang onto gear a little longer and we all know every player has BIS gear on every character right? /sarcasm
No one posting in this thread is in any danger of getting realm first. Any serious realm first contender isn't sharing their info to the public, much less going to mmo-champion.com to get tips and tricks. Not trying to be a jerk, and feel free to prove me wrong, but I believe that's the reality. Go level as fast you can if you want, but by the time you're 105 or 106, someone else will have finished. There's some serious folks out there.
You need to do all the quests in Broken Isles to unlock the world quests so it's a waste of time to do anything other than legion content to level.
You're getting exactly what you deserve.
If you had any clue you'd know the cloak WAS better up to heroic due to how stats worked (it having all 3 stats on). You will if you've really palyed at all have 710+ (as that's a few hours of pvp / a few weeks of mythic dungeons), which is fine for taking out lvl 105's - in fact its basically what you'll have.
Cataclysm I was ~10 minutes late to Server First Warrior, and that was due to Log In Servers. Other than that I've always been ~20+ minutes out, due to a lapse in judgment or decision-making.

I'd even set up a third Monitor if your Graphics Card could handle it.
Primary Monitor - The Game
Secondary Monitor - Tips, Hints & Guides
Third Monitor - Porn, Music & Take Away Menus
Atm on beta you need to hit Friendly reputation in each of 4 leveling zones to get access to world quests. It's around 40-60% of quests in each zone.
Is it really too hard to comprehend that some people play this game to have fun and want to go at their own pace instead of rushing to max level ASAP?
You won't be doing yourselves any favors rushing anyway. You'll still have to wait for everyone to catch up in order to do group content. Unless you enjoy waiting hours for your Heroic Dungeon queue to pop.
