My point was that Pizza is more USA than Italy. You can buy it some places and it is very good, but it's not what we think it is in the US. No need to get so defensive. It is an absolutely amazing country and I hope you get to enjoy it someday. Italians are very pushy and rude though so depending on where you are coming from it can be a bit of a shock.

Yeah. I definitely would like to see Istanbul. It has been one of my childhood dream ever since I read about Constantinople in Marco Polo’s journey.

No clue, really. I need an extremely good reason to visit some place, and considering probably every other country hates America and Americans, why would I want to visit them?

I suppose I have nothing really against the UK or Canada. Although why would I want to visit Canada? I imagine it's just America but more liberal (not exactly appealing to me)

Been to Syria and Turkey, while just moved to South Korea. I feel like all three countries are very similar, at least coming from DC. In Washington (not like most of America), it is very heterogeneous. You won't ever stand out; it is impossible. South Korea, like Syria and Turkey, is very homogeneous. While i stand out a little more in Korea, most people in both countries either don't care where you're from at all, or are curious in a friendly way.

My reason for moving to South Korea and not a predominantly Muslim country: i wanted something different. Being Muslim, i would have fit in much sooner in, let's say, Turkey, than Korea. You might hear a lot of bad things about predominantly Muslim countries, but if you are listening to that type of media outlets, you probably won't like Korea as well.

How are you liking it here? Where did you move to here? Seoul?

Istanbul won't (or shouldn't impress) a European. An American? Perhaps. They hardly ever see buildings/places over 150 years old.

Indian people I've met in the US that are Hindu have actually been some of the nicest people, but I probably wouldn't visit India without one of them because a lot of India itself is just awful.

Last time I was in Istanbul was summer 2014, was a great city - I could even live there. That said, I've heard it's very different now with millions of displaced Syrians present - give it 5-10 years though and go there, it'll be back on its feet.

Istanbul is same, you just don't know how awesome it was at the first years of the republic. To be fairly honest, it was even better at the last years of the Empire.

Yes, i moved to Seoul. The language is the biggest barrier, besides that, i love it. Getting around the city to go shopping, walk around some nice places is so easy, too!
