What that Merkel cannot be trusted, or that she only cares for herself and her legacy? Her main political move is simply to sit things out not doing anything, as long as possible, the problem in this situation is quite simple, she opened the borders, without any kind of control and plan, that is what was utterly wrong, it is okay to let people in, after you have made sure you don't get the lowest scum of the planet, but this simply didn't happen people were just handwaved through.

I wish there was an actual alternative that one could vote for, but even protest voting gets old after over a decade.. the parties in Germany suck.. heck the only ones that would actually change directions are either in the direction of right wing extremism (not an option) or the green morons, but that is like voting for for a triggered greenpeace-feminazi, essentially a US college of liberal arts in party form. Not truth, opinion. And seeing as most refugees (sugar-coating with the word "immigrants" only makes you lose credibility) that get to Europe are actually middle-class (you don't have money to pay a smuggler when you're low-class) it is highly unlikely that they are uneducated or unwilling to work. Furthermore, your point of view that they aren't fleeing war because they won't just settle for any country is fallacious, at best. Why wouldn't you go after the best shot at a better life, especially when you have nothing to lose? And please, you haven't done anything but throw buzzwords around. Don't blame others for doing that.

No respectable sociologist, or even just a person with common sense, will agree that immigrants from ME brought nothing but misery to Europe, that they won't integrate, etc. Go to any large European university's website and browse the list of faculty members - you will always see quite a few professors from ME.

Because they emigrated not ran like refugees. They are the first that run to a western country. The ones comming with boats now are the leftovers, middle to lower class that care barely speak and write arabic. They can't learn a new language.
