Yes. Legion is a huge step forward.
Yes. Legion is a huge step forward.
English is not my first language, feel free to point out any mistake so i can keep learning.
It can't be worse than what WoD was I guess. The pre-patch is enjoyable so far, so maybe yes.
Outside of WOD - I've been happy with the general direction, yes.
Legion is looking really good, so we'll see. WOD can die though. I didn't mind Cata too awfully much really. MOP wasn't terribly bad either. WOD though... My seething hatred for this shit expansion is beyond words. That's not to say WOD didn't have its good points.. the quests were amazing, the cutscenes were top notch, the world really well designed except for the Horde garrison lol. But outside of those few positives, the negatives far outweigh them.
No - because the game is getting easier and spells / roleplay elements getting stripped away
with every new expansion.
MoP was amazing. I feel bad for the haters that never gave it a chance. Anyway, I was not a big fan of WoD, but I still found enjoyment in it. I am happy with the direction the game is going because the changes I've seen so far are very good and I like what I've read from the developer Q&As regarding what issues they are trying to work on.
I am happy in general, but I dont like one direction blizzard did take in the past.
And that is about Accessability.
I dont like that you can level up professions that fast, that you can enter raiding that fast. I think there should be only one difficulty in raiding, not four.
It takes a lot of epicness if you kill a boss 10x or more before you actually kill him on the highest difficulty.
It should be possible to infact choose your way to play and be happy, but you shouldnt expect to get everything in a relative fast way.
For example, when I choose raiding as my specialisation in the game, then I shouldnt have the time to be maxed out of everything else and vice versa. It takes a lot away from the game. Diversity is cool.
anyways just 2 cents on the topic, and to be honest it doesn't bother me enough to not play WoW, I still enjoy it a lot and its the best MMO out there (For me!).
Basically, Faralohn and Path of the Titans were talked about content that didn't make it, and Dance Studio was promised content (I have the box right next to me that promises new dances. False advertisement or summit), and blizzard deliberately pokes fun at it by making them garrision missions
No, because.
1. Low level is largely abandoned, the specialisation based reward system added in Legion also removes many quest rewards unless your spec benefits from it directly. That means if you're a tank who is questing as DPS then you can say goodbye to that shield the quest may have offered while you were tank specced, and if there is no other reward available you will just get no reward, previously you could choose your rewards even among stuff that was less useful and that was a good thing.
2. Many of the classes have been pruned beyond what I think is reasonable and have been given designs intended not to be interesting or engaging but instead to somewhat present an illusion of being engaging, while providing more normalised performance between good and bad players. The good players notice this very quickly and feel limited/bored/disapointed with their gameplay, there have been multiple layers of this game design approach across Legion.
Aside from that a lot of the flavour has been pruned out of the game, a lot of utility and while that could be in the name of PVP balance they have then achieved the opposite by implementing an incredibly ridiculous pvp talent tree, which creates balance issues that needs its own whole thread to discuss and thrown in the artifacts which also need a thread of their own, ultimately result in probably worse balance than we began with.
3. RNG based looting.. Instead of earning gear in a linear fashion you are now subject to lottery systems where player power can wildly vary based on RNG due to the titanforged system and in large due to the legendaries. PVP gearing is done entirely through loot crates, brb while I puke.
4. Eternal grind - The artifacts present a massive power boost, and thanks to that we have an expansion long grind ahead of us in order to stay current with our artifacts.. What this means is that returning or less dedicated players will have a very significant additional power barrier of grinding that they need to overcome that can only be fixed through time.
I could go on all night with different issues, if I was in a lead design position I'd take the game in a very different direction and direct resources to very different elements in an attempt to fix the entire game, rather than just try to cash in on the endgame casuals and fair weather players.
Probably running on a Pentium 4
What exactly is the whole Dance Studio thing about? I know that it's been an ongoing 'inside joke' for many expansions now, and something that the devs have spoken about but not delivered ... but I don't understand what's involved in it, and why players are so excited about it?
Is it some sort of mini-game? Like one of those things that kids play on consoles, where you have to copy a series of moves and make your character 'dance' along with some music?
Yes. Legion is looking amazing, and it can't be as bad as TBC & WoD.
not really.
classes keep getting more boring and more RNG added to gearing in general.
WoD was a poor expansion in all aspects bar raiding, from what I have played on the Beta Legion corrects what I found to be a mistake with WoD.
So I am at this point rather unhappy with how WoD turned out but I am happy with how Legion is shaping up so far.
TBC and WoD share a bottom spot in my opinion when it comes to how good an expansion they were.. Sure my 14-15 year old mind was blown away back then but given that I am about a decade older and having played dozens of mmo-rpgs since then I can safely say that I wouldn't want TBC as an expansion now.

Not happy at all. I haven't made up my mind if I will try legion but so far it's looking like a no.
