Immediately begin preparing what I need to live. Albeit I might want to kill myself in the end, it's not smart to be making rash choices right away. Work on the basis you're not alone, work on the basis you want to live, and go from there. If I end up going insane and killing myself, so be it.

Remember; Who will operate, maintain and manage all the Water, Electric & Gas supplies? No-one, so get ready to go full Zombie Apocalypse mode. I Am Legend mode!

I think the most obvious and sensible decision would be to question what the fuck is happening and why you are the last person in existence. But beyond that fact, survival first, enjoyment next. Go get some food that will last you for awhile, and figure out through the internet, books, and any other resource on how the hell to produce electricity. If there is one thing you'll need, it's food, water, and power. Electricity and knowing how to produce it on the go, or with a generator you can reliably clean and keep up to date will make life a lot easier as time goes by. After that, you best be learning how to grow crops and such, and hunt. Perishables will be gone within what, a few years? Even with a deep freeze you don't have very long with non-canned goods, and such.

God, being alone on the planet would get fucking tedious and so strenuous to the point of depression.

realize that im really alone in europe/old world, because realistically i will never reach isles and america.
then go to my faculty's library and try to secure most of math and physics books i can preserving them in vacuum and safe storage, search a good grammar book hoping that it will be useful to future translation and maybe find books about computer architecture and documents format.
then, or probably meanwhile, search large amount of drugs and go around europe to save knowledge until unavoidably i will die

Yeah, there used to be this show called Life After People. It was a show about how long everything would take to deteriorate if the entire human race suddenly disappeared. I believe they said some of the most basic things like electricity could keep running for a few days without any help. 1 day after people, not much changes. Homes are still powered, AC and water still running, etc. They kept going in increments of 1 week after people, 1 month after people, 1 year after people, and so on, up to something like 100,000 years (where there's barely any evidence we existed).

You could probably argue with some of the science or other technical stuff in the show, but I thought it was pretty interesting if nothing else. iirc, they said we wouldn't start having problems with stuff like electricity and water for anywhere from a week to potentially months, depending on where you live.

OT: I'd probably start by trying to improve my skills at things like hunting, fishing, and growing food. I figure I could probably survive on occasionally raiding stores like Wal Mart for a little while (a lot of canned foods have a pretty good shelf life), hopefully long enough to get better at the above skills and become self sufficient.

And yeah, I'd get as many self-help books as I could find. It'd be really nice to know stuff like which berries are safe to eat and which ones will kill me, how to fix my car, etc. We have to remember that there's a lot of stuff that we take for granted in the real world, and we depend on others for that stuff. I'd be spending a lot of time reading up on those skills.

I guess this is a lot better than a zombie apocalypse scenario. At least I don't have competition from other living people. What's left in grocery stores, gas stations, etc, is all for me. I don't have to fight for it (or at least I don't have to fight humans for it) or worry about others trying to raid my house and steal my shit.

Get as much can food and weapons as possible. Get a gas powered generator and as much gas as possible to power it.

Wait for the war that will begin even if the war is just in my head.

I'd search for supplies around the city. If there were corpses I'd take time to bury as many as I could over the next weeks/years. Other than that? Not much tbh. Maybe explore parts of the world I never had access to before.

After the first 12h of constant celebrating with booze and good food.
    - Loot the gun shops for the rifles and ammunition. (for hunting purposes)
    - Collect as much long lasting food / fuel as possible.
    - Collect enough portable generators.
    - Collect all the other necessities.
    - Pack it all in a truck / choose nice location to live.

... and live happily until the dying breath.

First, I would learn everything about the modern tech to be able to support a decent quality of life for myself infinitely. Then, I would just spend entire days watching movies, playing games, listening to music, reading books and such, occasionally traveling and daydreaming about being with people.

Once I would get bored of it, I would spend thousands years building a spaceship, and then I would travel to other star systems, hoping that intelligent life somewhere exists.

If I really am the last human being alive, and I am 100% aware that finding anyone else is not an option to pursue, I would travel the world using the most luxurious means of travel I can aquire, visiting nuclear plants and making sure they shut down safely so they cannot melt down at any given point.

Hopefully animals are still around and I can keep pets to prevent loneliness to a certain degree. The infrastructure will probably last longer than 24 hours, and even if it really just lasted for that long, it wouldnt matter to me because I would still be able to aquire anything I would need past that point, especially information via bookstores, libraries, printed manuals near specific vehicles etc.

It is also possible to generate electricity again with all the renewable sources around.

I'd basically spend my remaining lifetime making sure that mankind's technological remnants do not endanger the advent of nature and biological diversity as the last caretaker of the planet.

    Wtf?

Ot: I would probably still be in shock and mourning for lost loved ones and family in the first day. Next 24 hours work out survival plans until you could really get an idea of what actually happened. If in this case, you are the ONLY person on earth alive and there is no way to procreate to revive the human race, you might just check out. Save living for lord knows how many years lonely and awaiting the impending doom of extinction. There's no way to know it for sure so it's a hypothetical option. Much like the scenario.

A lot would depend on if I knew what happened. Cause in reality my first 24 hours would probably be wandering around in a state of confusion wondering how on earth no one else is around. And then I'd likely get in my car and search for other people.

But if I knew I was the only one left I'd probably have a bit of a breakdown where I freak out and mourn for the people I care about who are gone.

Then I'd get online and research how to grow food, make clothing, purify water, and handle illness without technology. Cause newsflash folks -- you might be able to live off Walmart for 5-10 years, but 20-30 years from now that won't be an option anymore.

I'd research which city has the best year long weather and then head there. When I got there I'd find a place to make my base, probably in the middle of the city, and then go into survival mode where I learn to adapt to the new life.

Odds are likely after probably not to long the realization that the rest of my life will be spend just trying to survive and I have no hope of seeing another person again will probably drive me to suicide. There is a really significant end-of-life problem where there is no one left to take care of you (assuming I'd even make it that long). How long it would take to drive me to that point is a good question. Months? Years? Decades? Maybe never -- the drive to live may be stronger than the despair.

I've said for a while I'd prefer to get wiped out in the first wave of the zombie apocalypse rather than try to figure out how to survive. All these shows that are post-apocalyptic survival themes I always think how awful that life must be.
