Sidonia is a hell of a lot more than a mecha series. Also, everyone picked Lala as best girl. I lost faith in everyone else in regards to discussing the series. Netflix is willing to fund a third season as well. Just have to get the director on board. Anime for Netflix is fairly cheap compared to their other shows.

New Game 05 - If I die, and anime is real in heaven, I want to to work at their company.

I'd be their loveable co-worker from a different department who always stops by to visit on break. Sometimes, Yun would force me to stay for their tea parties. I'd make a habit of teasing Aoba as she gets used to the company. Hajime would use me as a test model so she can get her animations right. I'd talk with Hifumi over the company chat. Rin and Yagami would scold me for never doing any work and always coming to their section.

Or I'd just be a Tarou from Shirobako who's annoying as fuck and doesn't do any work at all. That's fine too. As long as I can work with them.

Kizumonogatari I

This was really good. Probably my favorite or second favorite installment of the series so far, along with Hanamonogatari.

Though the CGI and the drawn parts clashed a lot, I'd still say that it looked amazing and was overall amazingly well animated. The, as always, overly ambitious and meticulously composed scenes were really enjoyable to watch and I enjoyed the lack of the usually so very tedious drivel. Yes, I still think that Monogatari's dialogue is neither special nor enjoyable for the most part. No, I don't want to discuss this in-depth.

Anyway, what usually strikes me as prententious and overly ambitious in a negative way about the Monogatari series actually had weight and impact to itself this time around. The composition, the direction, the soundtrack. Everything mostly just clicked, which is probably due to the fact that this time around things actually happened and we didn't just look at talking heads for an hour. Parts like this are where the Monogatari series really shines, but they are way too rare.

The soundtrack and the way they utilized it was especially good during the first quarter of the movie. I like how the subtle pieces did a majority of the work in building tension during the subway scene. I do however think that they went slightly overboard in terms of pathos in that part.

Another thing I liked about this are the slightly different character designs. Shinobu's kid design is especially great in this.

Overall, I'm not sure about how I should rate this though. I enjoyed it, but I still checked how many more minutes were left shortly after the halfway point. I enjoyed it, but I still found the clashing artstyles to be quite jarring in some parts.

I think I'd like to settle for an 8.5 on this for now and I'm going to round it up to a 9 for the time being. I might re-evaluate this once all parts are out and I've watched this part of the story in its entirety.

In all seriousness, I was engaged the whole way through and thought it was a fantastic addition to the series. Worth the extended wait. Pt2 cannot possibly come fast enough.

Well I figured that, but I feel like I always come in here to say "Man, this anime is really good!" while then on the flipside most people are like "This is absolute trash, TRAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSH!". Ex- Kiznaiver.

And maybe I will, I've been writing them off honestly just because I thought I wouldn't really enjoy the mech style of combat and what not, but you know what, I made the same mistake with sci-fi and Mass Effect, so I probably should reconsider it.

…thinking about it, I’m almost embarrassed I didn’t notice the feathers on Holo being a sign. It was so obvious, and yet it didn’t register.

If S&W is consistent for one thing

(I realize that this is barely related, but the word 'consistent' made me rant, so...) I’m starting to dislike consistency in this show; I want a shakeup (or, ideally, make Holo do what I want, lol). Despite things actually happening, I look back on my time with S&W and questioning exactly what has happened. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel an inherit need for things to happen (I'm really enjoying Amaama to Inazuma, for example), but the show's starting to feel very formulaic to me. What I want out of this show is Holo and Lawrence. Give me more growth of that, and less forced conflict, please.

So as the arc ends I once again don't attack the writing of Holo.

Well…I think she, as a character is interesting, but I can’t help but view her as a frustrating romantic companion (something I desperately want her to be with Lawrence). There’s nothing wrong with her being how she is, but if I was Lawrence? I’d be frustrated as shit, as you explain in your post as well. Hell, I (usually) enjoy tsundere characters, but this...? I both love and hate it, lol.

they also got the fan remake of metroid 2 removed, although that is more in line with what they have always done. still seems silly though
