Garroshs horde could have beaten the legion all alone.
If Varian could disable Giga Fel Reaver with one little stab to the head, then the boat should have been more than able to launch its multiple cannons at it to break free, or at the least some of those worthless Alliance soldiers that fell to their deaths could have stabbed it a couple of times on their way down. Or does the Alliance not train the guys they put in that armor anymore?
Yeah well the alliance werent the ones being bombarded by space lasers.

Congratulations! You've blurred the line between fiction and reality and convinced yourself that the Horde is a real thing!
But serious response: You do know that Garrosh Hellscream and generally orcs say that. Sylvanas is not an orc. Vol'jin is not an orc. Baine is not an orc. Most of the forces on the Broken Shore were not orcs.
Thrall was down, Vol'jin was stabbed, an entire army literally spawned on the Horde's flank. Staying would have resulted in the entire Horde leadership to be wiped out. It was the right call to retreat. The alliance cinematic paints a very misleading picture. (on purpose ofcourse)
Now the horde leaders live on to regroup and fight another day. Staying probably would have resulted in everyone dead, including the entire alliance forces.
Lets not forget BOTH factions lost their leader that day.

Varian really got monstrously more justified and cool death than Vol'Jin. But really, he was a much, much bigger character. Alliance did lose more, but so what? Horde lost Garrosh after all and it was time for old pop Varian to pass on the crown for Anduin. Now we will see something big with Anduin and because it's him in the spotlight, we will also see Wrathion. Go Legion lore!
so the horde decided to put themselves before the alliance who they've been at war with for ages.. totally does not make sense.. O.o
