We also more or less know that Gul'dan is using Illidan's body as a suitable host for Sargeras.
Whether that plays out or not, frankly y'all are crazy if you think they're gonna go through all the trouble of creating a Legion-centric expansion and not feature Sargeras at all. He'll make his way in there somehow.
Also, hilarious that you guys think we can kill Old Gods and the most powerful servants of the Titans, and Deathwing, but several expansions later a Titan is still out of our reach. Get some perspective. They have two options, give us some kind of fight against Sargeras in a raid, or create another antagonist out of thin air and/or Kil'Jaeden redux and disappoint us all.
Seems pretty obvious to me that they've been setting us up for a Pantheon vs Sargeras showdown since WOTLK. Here's the kicker, that battle isn't the end of wow and the real big bads are the Void Lords, of which the Old Gods are merely servants of. Sargeras might be the "big bad" but, he's actually using the Burning Legion to cleanse the universe of embryonic Titans, because the Void Lords are after them too but are trying to corrupt them. The Pantheon's mission is to bring order to worlds to bring those Titans forth eventually, presumably to eventually defeat the Void Lords.
Moving forward, where could they possibly go with this story other than bringing the Titan's back in some form now and dealing a serious blow against Sargeras? If they don't do that this is basically just another set back and no one wants that.
You ask me, some of you really need to get over the idea there's ever going to be a WOW 2 or a Warcraft 4. As far as Blizzard sees it WOW is Warcraft 4 and a whole lot more.
