Guess I'm the only one who likes to get currency

I like currency, but not when all the items I get are dupes and gives me currency or when my Summer item is a currency dupe. That or wasting a legendary slot on currency, any other slot is fine.

Just can't seem to get the Genji skin, I've gotten most of the other ones (even legendary), but just can't get the Genji one.

I don't know that it 'wasted' the legendary slot, I'm still on for just better than 1 in 10 for legendary skins and have had 3-4 legendary currencies on top of that. Maybe just lucky, have been pretty well on the summer boxes if I'm honest; got my WM, D.Va and Mercy skins now, just really want the WM Gymnast portrait now, wouldn't say no to Sprinter Tracer either; but I hardly play her. I also got a Zarya Weightlifter and both Lucio skins, but again I never play them so kinda feels bad because I know how badly some people want them.

Been sat on over 1k currency as well for a few days, can't decide whether to get Comtesse or Huntress, prefer I think Huntress over all but that gun on Comtesse, the part I'll actually see <3 Or if to just get something else entirely like Nevermore, even though I don't play Reaper much that skin is awesome.

Well, I spent that currency on the Sunyatta legendary skin, so it was put to use. However, what really troubles me is how the Summer loot boxes devalues the currency system, especially when it comes to future updates. How many future skins will continue to be unavailable because of Blizzard's decision to not allow in-game currency? All of them? 50%? 25%?

See, the problem with having currency, and not being able to spend it, is that it loses its value. Sure, the grind to get all the basic skins can take a while when just playing the game, but the result of that is that eventually you will run out of things to spend your in-game currency on, which in turn breaks the system. Blizzard did a complete 180 with how they changed the currency system for including all items purchasable to exclude potential future updates from being available. Not only does it undermine the purpose of the system, but also puts Blizzard's own credibility into question when they were not transparent with this change, and even contradicted their previous statements.

Was hoping for my country flag as icon though, doubt i'll get that.

There are going to be limits on what currency can get you anyway, so eventually you will reach a point where there's nothing left you want, so then having a bunch of it saved up to buy special event gear just devalues that gear when you can just buy it all on day 1. Then what do you do with all the currency you get from the dupes of those purchases?

There will be new heroes, so that's one way we will have stuff to spend it on, I think it's quite likely we will see new stuff for existing heroes to outside of the events too. Even there I was able to buy the Horus skin and couple of other things for Ana with saved currency, so now there's not much I want for her; not sure that's good or bad but a bit underwhelming.

The only skin I want is the Genji one. I haven't got one yet from the boxes, just a highlight intro and two victory poses. ^_^;

Blizzard Activision just deleted 20-30 Popular Threads on their forums exposing their faults and broken promises, stealth changes into their agreements.

These threads were continuously passing 500 posts everyday.

These were the highest rated.

For some reason, they deleted all of them yesterday

If we read the image and take it for what is (as everyone is wanting to do, the underline part says "as well as credits that you can use toward unlocking an item of your choice". Now this clearly states an item of your choice, there is nothing there at all saying you can unlock any or all items in game of your choice. Just an item of your choice which indicates you will have a selection of choices and can spend your credits there. Which is exactly what you have available to you, some items available for credit purchase. Don't add in extra words to make it in your favor.

There is nothing there to indicate they lied. Both screenshots say any item of your choice / any specific cosmetic. Nowhere is it listed that you would have every single cosmetic available to you. The edit itself isn't bad as it makes it even more clear for those who can't read and understand the English used in the first one.

People need to stop reading and adding more words to it so it says what they want it to say.

Now, don't get me wrong, I wish they were credit purchasable too. I'm just not going to throw a fit like most people since I can read and know that they never state all items would be available for credits. Only that I'd have my choice at specific ones.

"Any specific" means you can chose from all the cosmetics. They changed it because "Any specific" is wrong. If it wasn't, they wouldn't have changed it.
That said, the receipt you get is correct. It implies more than is true, but that's marketing for you.

The issue is people are claiming this is somehow Blizzard being dishonest, when the reality is that they're just upset that they can't get their way. Blizzard never promised that all future items would be available for credits on release. You can't interpret what they've said the mean that. It's that simple.

Blizzard's already stated that they're planning on bringing this event back every summer. If they decide NOT to, I imagine the items will get made available for credits, instead, or summer loot boxes will just be available forever (no reason not to). To me, it's no different from, say, the Headless Horseman's mount in WoW, where you could go a couple yearly events without getting it. And pretty much nobody really had much issue with that.

It means everything within reason is free. a restaurant who offers any drink free gives you a whitelist for choices. Blizzard didn't give you either a whitelist or a blacklist, which means that everything is available.

If everything, then that means the WM Noire skin and the Origins skin. There has always been limitations, defined by the cost next to the item.
