That's disappointing...but I suppose I can wait an extra month if it means the game will be better for it.

  2. #562

Can't wait for the KH3 DLC...FFS. Not buying FFXV until a full version is released and we all know there will be one. If you don't think they are already working on the DLC or even have it done then I got a sea side house to sell you in Kentucky.

KH series already did DLC in form of fully priced game rereleases with few features added in. They are called Final Mixes.

On topic though, legendary quote that has to be repeated till the heat death of the universe:

Can't really fault them for the delay.

I mean, is anyone really surprised?

Mighty No 9 says hello. I've seen delayed games be total ass. Daikatana, Duke Nukem Forever and Mighty No 9 are some good examples. Just because a game is delayed does not always mean it will turn out better however it does not always mean it will turn out to be garbage either.

I believe the intent of that quote is to not rush games.

Yes but "delayed games are eventually good" implies if you wait the final product will be good. That isn't true in every case. But yeah rushed games are always more than likely crap but FF15 isn't being rushed tbh even if it would have come out in September.

As for DLC...well that's just something that has become a part of the game development cycle. Let's hope it's handled as well as The Witcher 3's DLC which added a lot of worthwhile content that served to enhance the base game and expand upon it. Gamers will shoot themselves in the foot if they avoid games based purely on having DLC.

i agree. if DLC for games were as good as gta, witcher 3, dying light then i dont mind paying 20-25 bucks for it. because those dlcs, were like stand-alone games in amount of gametime. but those charging 20-40 bucks for costumes and maps that should have been in the base game are bs.

Yea The Witcher 3 nailed the DLC. It wasn't there to complete it, just enhance and expand.

Pretty sure you don't understand what "eventually" means...

First off no the Final Mixes was not DLC, They was the original Japan only version of the game that had content the others didn't. This isn't DLC and isn't new and has been happening in games since day 1.

Second Duke Nukem Forever,Might #9 would like a word with you.

Third: I do not mind games getting delayed, my problem is when they start talking about DLC before the game even releases. In the case of FFXV its clear cut content, Just like how it was with Destiny.

This game has been worked on for 10 years, there should be NO DLC talked about until after its release. But once again its Square Enix and they have openly admitted to wanting to sell DLC and make there games episodic.

There is only two games ill put up with it coming from SE and that's KH3 and the FF7 remake. After those two titles ill ether be buying used SE games or waiting for the full version.

This. If the DLC is worth and doesn't overshadow the main game then I'm happy. Borderlands 2 probably had the best DLC ever imo. 4 campaigns, 5 cheap mini missions, 2 characters and optional costumes that were like 70p each.

(Pretty sure you don't understand what "eventually" means...)²

And please, don't derail the thread. It's about FF XV not Mighty 9.

I guess. I wanted to make a snide remark how both are similiar as in being extra content that should've been in the game but got cut to charge you extra. I forgot that final mixes were made for PS2 which had near zero internet use besides FFXI. Also final mixes were more of a tie-in to next installments.

    You got me here.

Second Duke Nukem Forever,Might #9 would like a word with you.
Duke Nukem changed hands more that a hooker through her entire career. You cant compare that to single concentrated vision of a single developer like SE.
Mighty no. 9 was a indie game. You cant compare indie development with AAA development even if it's done by daddy of the Megamen itself. There are certain things that prevent indie infrastructure mimick a polished state of AAA game from a AAA studio.

Considering how long this game lingered in development hell, a 2 month delay isn't very long : P

The final mixes and international versions of FF games where content added to games after development finished and they where released. You had to buy the game a 2nd time if you wanted the new content. They where for all intents and purposes DLC of their era.

Second Duke Nukem Forever,Might #9 would like a word with you.
Comparing a game in development hell and a kickstarted game to one that has had the same team of 200 people working on it for nearly 5 years now. Great comparison

Third: I do not mind games getting delayed, my problem is when they start talking about DLC before the game even releases. In the case of FFXV its clear cut content, Just like how it was with Destiny.
They talked about the Witcher 3 DLC before the game ever came out. It was clearly cut content They talked about the Dark Souls 2 and 3 DLC before the game released clearly cut content as well

Game has only been worked on for about 5 years in it's current state. The versus project before that was just something that never entered full development nor ever had anything playable or actual gameplay coded for it.

There is only two games ill put up with it coming from SE and that's KH3 and the FF7 remake. After those two titles ill ether be buying used SE games or waiting for the full version.
And both games are likely to be rushed and not of the same quality as FFXV. Oh and guess what... they'll also have dlc.

Let me know when Might #9 becomes good because I am still waiting on that.
Still wondering what the troubled development of a kickstarted game has to do with FFXV.

Considering how badly it ran at E3 more polish time can't hurt it.

Not after ten years of 'back to the drawing board' in particular.

When Square Enix becomes a Pro-Consumer company like CD projekt red then you mite have a point. Also No the DLC for DS2 was not talked about before DS2 came out, Hell the Season pass didn't come out until well after its release.

Keep showing you don't know what your talking about Tech. Would u like me to compare it to some AAA games that wasn't in development hell, I got a really long list.

Also No final fantasy XV hasn't been in development for 5 years. Its been in development for 10 years. Any game that is being worked on for 10 fucken years starts talking about DLC then its clear cut content.

Development. Main article: Development of Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy XV began development in 2006, and was announced as an exclusive title for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) video game console under the title Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
10 fucken years and they are already talking about DLC. I shouldn't be surprised since its Square Enix who though Hitman and FF7 being episodic was a good idea. Along with selling TR rights to MS for a year (and it sold like shit).

Can't wait to see the DLC they announce for KH3 and FF7 and you defend it.
