    "Mog Shaming"

I'm part of many WoW community pages on Facebook and I often see female administrators post images, purposefully or inadvertently with their character front-row-and-center; meanwhile, sitting on the login screen for said character and therefore no missing what they're wearing or look like... even if the post has nothing to do with their character in the first place.

Almost every time(if not just that thus far) their character is wearing the skimpiest, most gaudy little outfit humanly possible and then trying to up the "cute" factor by throwing a witch's hat atop the bizarre ensemble. Then when you go into the comments section, all you read is, "Oh excellent mog!" and other variants in terms of compliments.

    Why?

These are some of the easiest mogs to throw on, common as all hell, they require virtually no forethought nor consideration, and they're clearly designed simply to draw attention towards the character's sexuality and therefore the player. Why is being tacky a celebrated thing? It's not only tacky but it doesn't even look good unless you're that big on pixellated in-game pornography.

I'm a male with several female characters and each one of them have virtually no skin showing. I went out of my way to find interesting transmogs for each that complimented their class/lore as much as humanly possible. From my Hunter to my Demon Hunter. Not only for the sake of adding a level of immersion to my gaming but also because women, even pixel ones, don't always need to be some thong-wearing buxom goddess to be helluva cool. That simply comes across as demeaning to me no matter how hard I try to look around it.

    Who else feels similarly?

Am I alone here in my desire for some sense of not only modesty but perhaps more importantly, TASTE?

i hate slutmog... the issue is the armor is never made to look good, or fit a character, or look awesome, or to look like your character would actually wear that... its simply there to be slutty...

and im so happy they have stopped with that, no longer making bikini and bra peices...

yet do you know there is a few people... a chibi orc female comes to mind... who are saying blizz is sexist because they ARNT adding more slutmogs? i have alot of females, but they are all well dressed... get ready for a link dump
(btw i am thinking about race changing dk to human male, and hunter to gnome, then rogue to worgen male, and maaaaybe monk to pandaren female but money is abit short....)

I'm going to need someone to post an audio of the last half of this post because my eyes rolled so hard by that point that I think my retinas detached.

Maybe when I get to my home computer. Now you've got me all nervous. xD

They're not skimpy or anything just, I'm colorblind, so I'm always partly wondering if I'm making the look clash really bad via color scheme.

You should probably take a long hard look at your life if you give enough of a fuck about peoples mogs to "shame" them.

There's some slutmogs that look good, some that look bad. Generally, if I find the overall outfit matches up well and doesn't clash with their character model, I'll shoot them a line complimenting the look, slutmog or not. If they don't look good, whatever, no skin off my nose. I've seen fully-covered characters that look like a character leveling up in Outland.
Be seeing you guys on Bloodsail Buccaneers NA!

... that's not what you're doing though, is it.

You're judging others based on what you think is right / good / acceptable. Your desire is your own, not necessarily shared by others. What I find even more appalling is that you seem to think that as a man you somehow have the right to weigh in on how a woman dresses herself or her in-game avatar.

Like... do you live in a world where it is still the 1940s? She can dress her character however she wants; your opinion on the subject is neither wanted nor needed.

I prefer to look at slutmogs rather than shitty pixelated vanilla/TBC gear

Yeah because my opinion towards how one appears is limited to only women, right.

I feel that people who call for modesty in how an animated character looks in game that is controlled by a person making decisionson how it's presented should really shut themselves off from society as a whole. In this game in particular the restricts on presentation in place do not call for any added degree of "modesty". If anything we should be allowed to hide all in game clothing just as we do with helms, capes and shoulders and not have unremovable undergarments forced upon us.

I also feel my characters should be allowed to breastfeed openly in game.

Anyone with a store helmet gets an automatic 0/10 from me. Very rarely does the rest of their getup even match.

It's funny, most of the people that I know who use slutmogs are women, must be something to that. I myself have only used the bloodscale set on a pally once while leveling, but you get way too many people trying to hit on you because you're playing a female char in a slutmog, so i just used the valor set. Guess women love the attention.

Mog shaming is just another method is being a douche. It is people's choice of what they wish to look like.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
