This comment was the 14th post in this thread, in which you said nothing about men after your original op (at least up to this comment). When your complaint was completely based around females, then how was anyone supposed to take it any differently than that? I cannot understand caring so much about something that does not affect you at all, especially something like how others want to play their game...you know, a super serious fantasy game full of gnomes, magic cows, goats from space, and drunken panda bears. You're mad about facebook posts from female wow admins, who show off pics of their stupidly dressed characters. It got under your skin...seeing pictures of a video game character. This is such beyond trivial stuff, there is no reason to care about how people want to look like when playing a silly FANTASY game, let alone shame them and then make a post on a public forum talking about it. This is almost mindboggling to me.

...and if you had bothered to read more of the thread you would've realized that's because male characters tend to be modest. Very rarely, if ever, do I run into crude mogs of them. I had mentioned that this thread was in fact the first time I had truthfully seen any that I can currently recall.

I get "shamed" for my appearances often, both in-game and IRL. I don't really care, though. The nice compliments, intriguing comments, and interested stares make most of what I wear (both IC and OOC) fun to wear. Even without them, I'd dress how I wanted. That's just how I am, so I don't really care if someone has an issue with me. It's their problem, not mine. If you have an issue with me, then simply ignore me, because I definitely don't care about someone else's inability to not get angry at what someone else chooses to wear.

There needs to be more skimpier outfits. They tend to look goodif created right. So I'm all for it. As well as a nice selection of ones that don't show skin so people who want to have choice. Ha, decidedly no. I don't think so. Personally I don't think I am as "inhibited" as you perhaps, or to put it in a less derisive way, I am waaay more open to open sexuality and even people wanting and getting attention off of it. Though I understand the frustration you face. You see the issue for me wouldn't be the morality or decency of it. Rather the dis-ingeniousness of it. If I believed that what they were doing was just attention getting under a thin WoW veil as opposed to being simply open about it I would be annoyed too. For instance I have respect for someone who simply calls out in Chat LF ERP Partner want to role play blah blah scenario. I dislike it when someone just leverages the fact that they are a female or acting as a female and use that to get freebies. I dislike the penis for brains idiots who make the behavior profitable even more. Were it all on the table however, like "I am a female (or at least will pretend to be) and will talk with you and converse with you with my sexy toon for stuff", then I am ok with it. I just don't like subterfuge in any business model really.

I'm usually not friends with those sort of people, open with it or not. Call me snooty. I'll tolerate a lot of things but being an outright ho-bag isn't one personality trait I tend to be able to swallow. I expect people to have a certain level of class about them and maybe that's unreasonable... but that's me, that's my stance when it comes to determining who I deal with or want to see on a daily basis. Er, if it bothers me that is technically affecting me negatively. Believe it or not, me giving someone the middle-finger could bother them and I'd think it was all in good fun. Harmless. Peoples' stance on what isn't or is undesirable changes depending on the individual. I for example don't like whores or people who fraternize with the concept of. It's not my bag of toys by any means. I steer clear of it and when it gets shoved up into my face I let them see my lack of appreciation for it.

Nudity =/= sex. Its because we hide behind so many clothes that sexualization of things that aren't sexual happens. In cultures where its very common for women to walk around topless, nobody finds boobs a very arousing body part. Because men's butts are used for comedy, nobody finds them sexual despite the female butt being very sexual despite them looking the exact same regardless of gender.

In fact its funny you mention the USA as being too sexualized for your tastes. In the US, women can be arrested for taking off their tops in public places unless the purpose is to breastfeed. That is absolutely outrageous. #Freethenipple is a thing for a reason.

maybe it is because they lose shape? or maybe they are still arousng them? they have plenty of kids for a reason in Africa and such places. well, women view men butts differently than men.

i hate slutmog... the issue is the armor is never made to look good, or fit a character, or look awesome, or to look like your character would actually wear that... its simply there to be slutty...

and im so happy they have stopped with that, no longer making bikini and bra peices...

There's not many unique options either so you can pretty much expect that they're posting the same ones repeatedly.

So I did it. I finally shamed people over their transmogs, I couldn't help it, got under my skin in a way that made me crawl.

I'm part of many WoW community pages on Facebook and I often see female administrators post images, purposefully or inadvertently with their character front-row-and-center; meanwhile, sitting on the login screen for said character and therefore no missing what they're wearing or look like... even if the post has nothing to do with their character in the first place.

Almost every time(if not just that thus far) their character is wearing the skimpiest, most gaudy little outfit humanly possible and then trying to up the "cute" factor by throwing a witch's hat atop the bizarre ensemble. Then when you go into the comments section, all you read is, "Oh excellent mog!" and other variants in terms of compliments.

Why?

These are some of the easiest mogs to throw on, common as all hell, they require virtually no forethought nor consideration, and they're clearly designed simply to draw attention towards the character's sexuality and therefore the player. Why is being tacky a celebrated thing? It's not only tacky but it doesn't even look good unless you're that big on pixellated in-game pornography.

I'm a male with several female characters and each one of them have virtually no skin showing. I went out of my way to find interesting transmogs for each that complimented their class/lore as much as humanly possible. From my Hunter to my Demon Hunter. Not only for the sake of adding a level of immersion to my gaming but also because women, even pixel ones, don't always need to be some thong-wearing buxom goddess to be helluva cool. That simply comes across as demeaning to me no matter how hard I try to look around it.

Am I alone here in my desire for some sense of not only modesty but perhaps more importantly, TASTE?

As a gay man, I have no opposition to slutmogs. In fact, I often have my alts rocking Black Mageweave looks while leveling (until 60 when they get Mage/Priest/Warlock T3 available). Slutmogs honestly look better than half of the shitty transmogs people throw together because they at least match.

Some day Blizzard will actually implement a proper dye system and transmog will really be something worth judging. Right now, without using full sets, it's like digging through a bargain bin trying to find things that match.
