There's not really anything central to MJs identity that she needs to be white. Flirty supermodel can be any race...but umm....kinda getting tired that whitewashing is a sin against humanity but color-washing is the right approach? Nothing says checking off the diversity list like interracial relationships. Eh. I still think these spidey movies will be the best we've ever gotten. Tom Holland is just on point to the next level.
