Which is why the governor of Louisiana specifically asked Obama, Clinton and Trump to not come down.

I have talked to many people out of state that follow the news and they and nobody they know knew anything about what's happening.

I have seen plenty online and on the television about it. If you know people that were/are unaware then they really limit their information sources.

It doesn't help Hillary's Presidential ambitions to have Donald Trump there giving out food to the needy while our President golfs and refuses to show up until Tuesday. I mean heaven forbid that he might have to cut short his vacation due to the inconveniences of Mother Nature. At least Trump is on the ground actually doing something to alleviate the crisis as a true leader should. Alas, because he is, it is not newsworthy to the liberal media which is hungry to influence the election. Hearst and Pulitzer would be very proud.

Obama's not here because the governor of the state asked him not to come. He also asked Clinton and Trump not to come. Our first responders are stretched very thin, and having political candidates or the President in the area means we have to pull them off of rescue and recovery to protect said political candidates or the President.

Well it's quite dumb for people to live in a sub lea level region, you are always going to get floods, if anything move everyone out of those areas and back to higher land and let it flood naturally. Or actually spend proper money and buy a system like they have in Holland where they barely have any floods nowadays.

Either way, if your government is not willing to do either, just move elsewhere, it's going to save you trouble and money in the long term.

These areas are not below sea level. They aren't in flood plains. Most of them couldn't have gotten flood insurance even if they tried, because they don't live in areas that flood.

Clearly creating more awareness of a disaster never leads to a significant increase in the amount of resources allocated to dealing with the disaster. Or maybe people should just stop being mindless sheeple and accept the fact that (in light of the DNC leaks) most of the main stream media is in the pocked of the democratic party, and for some reason this situation has a semi-blackout imposed on it (likely because the main topics of conversation have been designated to be either Trump bashing or setting up a 'regime change' in Syria).

Clearly, pulling police and other first responders off of rescue and recovery details is way more important and impactful than having them, you know, actually rescuing people who need to be rescued.
