Anime Thigh Thread II

I've noticed that for manga I either like the dark, psychological stuff like Boku wa Mari and Punpun (I need to get back to reading that one, it was really good so far), or romance like Sukitte ii na yo and even Citrus (although that one is super hammy soap opera stuff). Chihayafuru has to be my favorite manga by far, though.

I'm definitely open to manga suggestions, especially if they're completed works as I already have several that I'm reading atm.

This fits the bill perfectly, the dark parts aren't there at the start though.

Oh! I've actually heard of that one from somebody and never could remember the name because I didn't add it to my MAL. I'll definitely check it out.

Are you reading Mahoutsukai no Yome already? It's not part of the two genres you mentioned but it's a really comfy and wonderfully atmospheric fantasy manga. As for finished manga, read Blame. I'm totally not recommending this because it's my favorite manga, really.

Speaking of manga, I had Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou in my plan to read list for a long time. It's quite long (for my tastes), finished and supposed to be pretty comfy. I also stumbled upon I am a Hero recently and I feel like someone in here recommended it before, but I just didn't read it because it's in the 200s already.

This one is also absolutely amazing. It's just a 4-koma, but it's hilarious, cute and absolutely melts my heart.

Added those to PTR as well. I had heard of all but Yokohama already. I'm so much worse at keeping up with plan to read than I am plan to watch for some reason.

Orange 8 - Directing seemed a little off this episode too. Can't quite put my finger on it, but there was just something about the framing of a lot of the scenes that didn't feel right. Art and animation quality has been getting consistently worse, too.

Also, this adaptation would be so much better they didn't focus so much on Naho being a beta retard so much. It's there in the manga, but it doesn't drag everything else down like it's doing with the show. I shouldn't be getting this frustrated over it, especially since I know what's going to happen.

I was reading old pages from the thread last night because I was looking for something and I found the time when someone recommended Arachnid to me. I said I'd give it a try soon, but I still haven't started reading it and that was two years ago.

I'm fucking terrible at working off my manga backlog.

Yup, another one of my recommendations. Pretty nonsensical, but fun violence.

Ookami No Kuchi: Wolfsmund - Medieval Game of Thrones based in Switzerland. Fairly accurate to the times and feel.

Witches/Majo - Only a short, but beautiful little flight of fantasy.

Ah, yes I did. I almost forgot about it, but the game looks pretty solid to me. I'll be curious to see what the end result is like when it actually releases and probably will be picking it up myself. It doesn't seem to be 100% as fast as the older Quake games, but it's close enough. The skills don't seem too bad either, they just and interesting bit of flavour.

I was pondering over the abilities, then reminded myself of the old Lithium mod servers. I was a pretty big fan of the pure CTF mods and the special pickups they could use too. The grappling hook was amazing and just made the skill cap even higher. So I'm fine with the minor traits/abilities the characters seem to have.
