Is Legion Invasion gear really bad?

I got a toon with almost all free gear from the Legion Invasion and quests, ilevel 680.
Some gear don't even have main stats on them.

Go to LFR, barely do 20k dps.
It is not my rotation because it only has 3 or 4 buttons.

Gear isn't the only factor in your damage. Weapons, talents, enchants, and personal skill all play a part. I'd spend some time playing around with the training dummies to perfect your rotation.

I think he means his iLvl is 680 overall.

Only one of my toons actually hit a full 700 from the invasions gear. The rest are around 670 - 690 depending on what they picked up.

It's lower if you are below level 100.

Not like it matters its just there for alts as a quick catch up so that they're not complete wet noodles going into legion questing. You're gonna outgear the stuff within the first 3 levels so no point in asking if its good enough for current content

This. I really wouldn't worry about gear or dps until 110.

Set bonuses, trinkets. These things are really importnant.
Also, it's the pre-patch. Balance is nuts at lvl 100 as the max level is 110 now (though you can't level yet).

Get the scenario ring/trinket as well as the nethershard items. Your gear should be over 700 when you do enough invasions.

it's no the greatest but it's great for players or alts who haven't played since Highmaul. I guess it's blizzards way to try and give everyone an equal leveling experience on launch day.

Ive also gotten a couple 710 and 720 warforged pieces

I think they also did another mini stat squish. My DPS numbers went down after the prepatch launched, but mobs were still dying in the same amount of time.

in legion those items dont have main stats anymore cause offspec i guess, i forgot why blizz did that

I geared up a character that had about 670ish that had been gathering dust to full 700s in a couple of days with it. Took 0 effort and now that toon's ready to go for my main alt. Yeah 700s are shit but it's only gotta make the first few levels of Legion bearable and it's perfect for that.

In Legion, rings/necks are only stam and secondary stats. So the Legion Invasion is still "Legion gear." It follows the same formula. I guess to get people used to seeing rings/necks without primary stats on them before the expansion actually drops.

Afaik no neck/ring will have mainstats come legion.

That is why ilevel is only 680.

Was averaging 31k-34k Dps on most fights in heroic HFC on my Warlock who was in all Invasion gear. So either it was you or your spec is just poorly tuned at 100..
