Legion speedlevelling in 7 hours (video playthrough and written guide), Fire mage

This guide can be useful for both people who want to level at a relaxed pace as well as speed levellers, as one of the biggest benefits of this guide is that 1) you will finish ALL quests in each zone and 2) dont need a group to level.

I achieved server first lvl 100 in WoD, more than an hour ahead of the 2nd lvl 100 thanks to a feral druid's guide of the beta (this allowed me to finish shadowmoon valley in 30minutes and get ahead of everyone else). Unfortunately he didn't make any guides for legion, so when I got into the beta I decided to make a guide myself.

I've posted these videos as a comment in the speedlevelling thread a few weeks ago, but then I left for vacation. I have received quite good feedback on the guides so I decided to make my own thread about it.
I have now completed the written guide (see below)

Using this route you can easily achieve:
-38-45min per level (Ding 110 in 7hours), EVEN WHEN SOLO! (dungeons and grouped levelling speeds this up even more)
    - Reputation with all the factions you need
    - All flightpaths (useful for worldquests)
    - All hidden quest areas, resulting in no need for dungeons if you don't have a group for launch night!

info inside the videos and written guide:
    - Optimal Quest hub order
    - High density mob areas
    - Tips for bonus objective clearing
    - Tips for bottlenecks and how to avoid them
    - Where to use gliders
    - Hidden quest areas! (useful for getting that extra xp so you won't be 109 and think you have finished all zones)
    - Where to hearthstone and when to use it optimally

The videos are very basic recordings as I have literally 0 experience with making videos. You can turn up the speed of the videos if you want to quickly see the route I take.If anyone has any comments on things that can be improved.

Edit: Somehow I have the sound of Towellie's stream in the Azsuna part 2, I have no clue how this happened or how to remove it :/

    WRITTEN GUIDE PER ZONE
combine this with the video for best results

    General tips

Consumables: Gliders, flask, food, pots + tonics (use these on cd to sustain yourself), swiftness pots (mostly for running out of caves)
Escort quests: ALWAYS stick close or mobs will stop moving/reset
Bonus objectives: named mobs are great %, if you are geared enough to nuke them down
    Water strider

    Addons & Weakauras
    AutoTurnin
    Turnin
    CinematicsDisabler
Handynotes (for treasures, but it's not necessary like it was for WoD levelling)

The weakaura's that I have used in the recordings for firemage are from Dizzymage who generously posted these on MMO-champs!
    Here is the thread: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...egion-ready

    Zone 1: STORMHEIM
Quick scenario (this is a great opportunity to get ahead of ppl if you're good geared, so i recommend starting here if you are mythic geared and want to power level)
This area is slightly different for horde and alliance (mainly the start, another good reason to pick it as your starting zone0), i've recorded the alliance side
On the ships always pull the boss while aoeing the rest of the mobs on top.

    Weeping Bluffs
Walk up first floor and aoe pull the entire floor

Gratz, you just got server first =) If this guide has been useful to you and has sped up your levelling, please mention it in the comments and subscribe to my youtube channel! Aesthirz Ravencrest

    - - - Updated - - -

By the way, the nice thing about this guide is that:
    - It does not require grouped levelling, nor does it require doing the dungeons
    - It encompasses ALL questlines, unlike other guides that I have seen, so that even the completionists or people who want to take it slow and enjoy the story can get something from this guide, such as 'hidden' quest areas.

The thing about the Stormheim scenario, it's true that doing it right away with mythic HFC gear will possibly result in you being far ahead of anyone else in the zone. On the other hand, though, if anything were to bug out on launch, it would be that scenario. Pretty risky move to start with it, IMO.

I think if anything is going to bug, its dalaran: happened a few times on beta, and at that time scenarios and the zones were fine, but getting into your class hall via dalaran was impossible, as was talking to the flightmaster. This is the main reason why I think you do not want to turn in bonus objectives or quests, imo its very likely that dalaran will crash, so you want to have finished your artifact quest line and started your first zone ASAP.

Also, if scenarios bug, its probably more likely to be the artifact ones.
It's a good point though, and I'm not entirely sure about the technology behind it; If lets say the artifact scenarios are down, does that mean all instanced content will be down? Or can it be scenario specific?

    - - - Updated - - -

Oh, and the zone you start in doesn't really matter for this guide, you can start in any zone you prefer.
I would recommend going either to the zone where your professions send you, or stormheim to get ahead (I agree it can be risky, but it's high reward)

In beta the stormheim scenario bugged for me . I'm scared to do it.

Yeah I had this issue as well. Its definitely a risky move to start with the Stormheim scenario.

As someone in here already pointed out, Dalaran also bugged out a lot on beta. You couldnt access the Flight Master and you couldnt get to your class hall via dalaran, so if anyone is trying to speed level at launch it might just be better to go straight for your artifact rather than go back to draenor and hand everything in. If Dalaran bugs before you get your artifact theres nothing you can do aside from sit there and wait until it gets fixed.

After Neltharion's Vault you're flying directly to Skyhorn. You won't have the flightpoint on release.

Actually I'm pretty sure you're given the flight point as soon as you pick up the quest to travel to Skyhorn.

  9. #9
Yes, you're given this flightpoint as soon as you get the quest. Why do you think this is changing Varony?

    7 hours is probably doable.
If you just want to rush through the zones then leveling in Legion is really fast. Some of the quests and quest texts are really intresting and/or funny though, so I'd put some time into actually reading them but whatever.

Definitely doable. And it would be even faster with practice and a group.

Why rush? Worlds first? Why on earth would u be happy to speed level to 110 then get bored and whine at the forum how wow sucks afterwards.

Literally no one does this. Stop perpetuating this stupid assumption.

Mainly because for SOme people, the leveling is the most boring part of the experience. Everyone is different so I don't criticize or question people who want to dive into the lore or take it slower. But for me the dungeon content and getting the artifact stuff in World quests is the content im looking forward to. Also, since i'm part of a mythic raiding guild I'll be doing this on more than one character.

If you rush, you might get bored with the expac faster, but that's ok. These expansions last like 2 years and its enough to make ANYONE get bored of them if you've been playign consistently. But yeah, for me, I don't care for the leveling process, One Day I might take a character slowly through it, but the max level content is what Im excited for

Because for some people, questing is an annoying obstacle that they have to get through in order to do the content they want to do. For me, personally, all I care about is raiding/Mythic+ dungeon. I have never enjoyed questing in WoW, and getting to max level in a new expansion is always something I dread.

I always speed lvl, I have always since BC, however, I leveled in aszuna in beta and I read every quest and dialog. The difference in the enjoyment I had from leveling went through the roof. I've always hated leveling, but this time, I'm gonna stop and read all the quests in all zones. Like you said, there's some funny shit in there, the addict nightborn in aszuna was hilarious.
