In his book he explained how not getting into college was his own fault. Despite excelling in his subjects he hated school in his youth and purposely didn't lend any effort towards it, which he later wrote to regret.

Hitler's scapegoating of the Jews wasn't just because some Jewish people made fun of him and he couldn't deal. There was a great deal of thought, some of it passing as science, using skewed statistics, misinformation, and downright lies to place the blame on an ethnic-religious population for completely invented reasons in order to create a scapegoat to rally public anger and resentment around to place fascistic war mongering leaders in power based around the concept of a nation that lost its stature in the world and must take any measures to reclaim it.

A close friend of Hitler's family, and their family doctor, was Jewish. There are no records of Hitler (before joining the Nazi party) that shows that he had anything against Jews. It is very well possible that Hitler blamed Jews for reasons that seemed logical at the time (such as Jews having no nation-state of their own), because he needed to rally people around his leadership and blame everything on something, and finally because he hadn't had that much exposure to Jews himself.
