One thing I was thinking about this series last night - It feels like the pacing has been incredibly quick, so far. I've read only 15 chapters and so far Xue Ying has basically exploded in power, literally skipping a rank. He goes right to Earth Knight, while Tong San is a rank higher but is somehow dumbfounded at the things he can do (like liquidating metal and then reforming it, with just his hand). Tong San is meant to have been an adventurer, he must have seen some impressive shit in the past, surely?

Anyway... Xue Ying has skipped a rank and just magically unlocked some sort of hidden bloodline power (I thought of Naruto at this point and felt dirty) that is meant to essentially be rarer than a Transcendent at this point, with how thin the bloodlines are meant to be lol He also seems to have this super special weapon that has properties, beyond the illusion thing, that only he seems to be able to ascertain. Down to his level with a spear, I guess, but still. And now, he's made a deal with the mage guy to go kill the KING of a species of demon/magical beast to get it's heart.

I'm super ready to realise that the bloodline unlock is going to be different to what he initially thinks it is. I feel like it had a massive explanation right away, as though he is meant to have understood everything about it. So I expect it to not just be the "Power Bloodline".

This is in just 15 chapters! xD

Yeah, the pacing seems to be pretty fast indeed. I'm halfway through book 2 now and his current strength is at the Legend rank. My best guess is that all ranks before Transcendants are like the 'mortal' stages in most novels and the real cultivation begins after that.
