There is no moving the Kurds. Ethnic boundaries are no longer dominant in modern Turkey. This is not the soviet collapse folks, the people are way too intertwined for such a suggestion to ever be relevant again.

Aside from that, Turkey is, or at the very least should be a Kurdish state, as much as it is Turkish, or Circassian. We don't need another starving nation state in the desert, do we now? I really do doubt people of Turkey, Kurdish or otherwise, would prefer that alternative, not anymore, not after internet porn.

When Seljuks stepped into Anatolia, they were already assimilated, genetically speaking. This has been shown in DNA research, as Turks, especially in central Anatolia, has high-level of altaic contribution in both Y-Chromosom and mDNA, which shouldn't be the case for pure Anatolian populations. That's why Turks are closer to Kurds, Armenians and Iranians, genetically, and not Europeans (Greeks, for example), save for Balkan migrants. Going up from genetics, we have cultural identity. Seljuks were Turk, they knew they were Turks, regardless of their awe towards Iranian civilization. Ottoman Empire tried all sorts of shit in 19th century, from neo-Ottoman national identity to Islamist identity. None worked, and for a reason.

Ataturk did avoid any mention of for example his peoples genocide against Armenians which they had just concluded. In contrast, Turkish identity requires one thing: language. The exchanged Turks (Balkan Turks) you are talking about were probably ethnic Europeans. Most of the Balkan Turks are probably ethnic Europeans, but that was never an issue. By ethnic, I mean a genetic classification.

You also happen to be a resident in a country in that gives citizenship to pretty much anyone that has a valid reason to stay here for a sufficiently long period of time, so one would think that this would give you a more enlightened attitude toward nationality and identity compared to the backwards European view.
