Calling names, not knowing how to even use AH. <3

PEBCAK issues as usual with the smartest gamers . Obviously AH is super charged, obviously AH will be slower with 50+ pages of everything. But it's working like it's intended to work. Nothing blizzard can really do, and the "herp its teh 1 item sellerz dat are ruining ma game" isn't the right answer...
Ok Mr. Brilliant, please show me where there is any documentation showing that clicking the "rarity" sort button will sort by the number of stacks. AFAICF this is not documented anywhere on Blizzard's websites, its not in WowWikki, and it certainly isn't intuitive.

And are you sure it even works?

Just remove the AH completely that would fix the problem.

It's because the sellers know that on high-pop realms, AH lag makes AH add-ons basically unusable. Knowing that the seller anticipates that many people who need those crafting items will use the default UI to buy what they need. The seller then floods the AH with stacks of one and he makes sure to price the “bid price” so that it is the lowest “bid price”, but he keeps the “buy price” high.

Since the default UI only lets buyers sort by “bid price”, all his stacks will show-up on a default UI search as the cheapest, even though his “buy price” is far from the cheapest “buy price”.

Now the seller is banking on the buyer not noticing that it’s only his “bid price” that is low, and therefore the buyer ends up buying the Seller’s auctions. But even if the buyer is not a fool and knows that it is sorted by “bid price”, the buyer still has to tab through dozens of pages of single stack auctions (with a 20-30sec reload time to each page) to get to auctions with a cheaper “buy price”.

That’s broken. And that’s a bit sleazy. But the fault lies with Blizzard, they should employing fixes to not make this a viable strategy.
Yes, that is true. Almost all of the one item per stack posts are like this, low bid, high buyout.

Its is just missing a button: Filter by stack size.
Or another solution - make all trade goods same as WoW tokens - you don't see individual price, but price for piece and you can order as many as you want - I think I saw it in another MMORPG somewhere ... Wildstar probably?
Anyway, I made about 300k on AH in last week and quite happy about it

Filter by stack size would be nice if we could remove Qty 1 from the search. Even if the single qty=1 spammers caught on and made everything in Qty 2, that would still reduce the pages needed to scan in half.

I would add that one other feature that is sorely needed is a "Sort by Average Buyout Price" button. Sorting by anything other than the "Current Bid" column will sort by buyout price, but you still have to go through a dozen or so pages to get past the singles.

The only really annoying thing of x1 posting is that clearing the mailbox takes ages because you either have to wait 1min for the next 50 mails or /reload constantly. (Though, it's quite handy to fuck with competition )

I wish that we could buy x1 auctions in stacks. That means, buying 600x1 ores would be 3x200 ore in your mail.

Like I said, gimping the mobile AH would fix this shit. No one wants to wait for 800 mails with 8g each in them. I have 1500 auctions worth an average of 3000g each. Totally not into this penny ante shit and I don't know why any rational person would be.

The auction house is certainly stuck in the stone ages compared to other games even remotely similar to WoW. Luckily add ons fix all this, but I would rather Blizzard fix issues rather then let other people do it with mods. It is funny that they take the stance that a camera zoom feature gave people an unfair advantage but something like this doesn't.

cba to read the whole thread but just use the Mobile Armory App, that one (or even the web AH) sorts on buyout!

Hogwash. The auction house is now sufficiently broken that having appropriate addons does not fix this problem. I use TSM and auctionator. When I search for something popular like leystone ore or shal'dorei silk, the search takes 3-5 *minutes* before I see anything. If I then move to buy things, half the time, the lowest price items are gone by the time I get my search done, and buying anything then takes *more* time, 5-10 seconds per auction.

This is very different from what I experienced in WoD, even on a full server, it was rarely that TSM would take more than 30 seconds, and once I had the list, buying was fairly quick (1-2 seconds per auction purchased).

It's not *impossible* to do business, but it's getting really gruesome, even with the best addons available.

i will bet you any sum of money, this is the first expansion (or launch) the person has been in... the start of EVERY expansion, the Ah becomes unbearable.... for atleast a few weeks... the prices will stabilize as people find out the best ways to farm, the op ways get nerfed, and the rush for crafted pieces goes away...
