    Just found this in Shaz'gul...

    http://imgur.com/a/Npvgj

Leads to Dalaran in the Broken Isles!

Update: Just appears to be part of the Gul'Dan story and not related, of course shouldn't of got too excited as it wasn't on The Broken Isles anyway.

    Part of the Harbinger achievement.

While that may have nothing to do directly with The Stars' Design, it shows that there are things in old content that still direct you to the Broken Isles. While we have been told, indirectly, that items do not start off the Broken Isles that may not actually be true. Is there solid proof that this is fact? That old world content cant help start with everything to get it?

I really doubt it's gated by class campaign, as one appearance is already gained by that, and many people had it for days. Also I don't think it is gated by 8/12 rep and suramar dungeons. My best guess it's somewhere further down suramar rep or even raid release.

Exactly, some people seem to think that it may be in Emerald Nightmare but they wouldn't do that while you are sent there for the Phoenix Rebirth appearance. I finished that questline a day or two ago with it ending by telling me to wait for the raid to release. The only thing is that we do not know 100% if these hidden appearances are actually obtainable at this moment. Blizzard has only said they are all in the game, not that we can actually get every single one now. While you may not think it is gated behind rep you need to remember that a few are. Blood DK and WW Monk and Prot pally have theirs gated behind Nightfallen rep as both are found in Withered Army Training. Holy Priest must be exalted with Valarjar. Survival Hunter and Shadow Priest also apparently have theirs drop in Emerald Nightmare.

All that said, it wouldn't be shocking to find out there is some pre-requisite that we have just not gotten or not realized. My best guess would still come from the look of the item as well as the text in the items description. "Nightborn designs for a spellblade mirroring a treasured constellation of their people." Going by this there are a few things that come to mind that I've said before. The first thing, as would be for anyone has has been there a million times as well, is Ulduar. Aside from their look, and a few statues there is no solid connection there that I have found yet. The second would be Elune. For one, when Ysera was killed Elune turned her into a constellation. This may also mean that somehow Ysera is involved. Elune is especially close in lore when speaking about Nightborn. As they come from Night Elfs, they consider her a god. The Temple of Elune, unsurprisingly, has statues depicting Elune and other gods. The Temple of the Moon is also Dedicated to Elune, but is (was?) in Darnassus. Not sure if that helps but its there. Another option is to possibly find a connection between the Sunstrider family and something else current. As Prince Kael'thas had it reforged before using it against the Lich King. That led us to ICC at first to recover it so maybe there is a connection there if there somehow is one somewhere on the Broken Isles. Maybe the entire thing is simple and it drops from the Court of Stars mythic dungeon. There are a lot of different options to be considered. Right now, Paladins are working on their Corrupted Ashbringer and have brought up the fact that Ashbringer glows on holy ground. All of this comes from its lore and it seems they might be heading in the right direction. Maybe we are all looking too deep into it or maybe not enough. I for one will keep trying whatever comes to mind until I get some type of confirmation about it.

While the Sunstriders are in the lore, they probably have nothing to do with this at all. Pride of the Sunstriders is already an appearance so we can probably cut that out while looking for this.

Sorry for the long post, it was me half working out all the thoughts and half just putting things out there on the off chance in may spark someone to think of or remember something that may be important.

The more people contributing the better so you never know! Alas it could be a while until it's figured out, I'm even more surprised something like this has alluded the data miners (Mind you I'm no expert when it comes to that)

First of all, it should be known that the devs said the search for every hidden artifact should always start on the Broken Isles. Take that with a grain of salt if you will, but it does make sense. Azeroth is a very big place to hide things in with no hints.

I think it's helpful to look at the hidden appearances that were already discovered on live, so we have some term of comparison:

    1. Blood DK - random drop from the final chest in the withered training scenario (which can be done once every 3 days).

    2. Vengeance Demon Hunter - random drop from the daily Twisting Nether class boss (will drop regardless of your active spec or loot spec - something I presume is true for all of the items, btw).

    3. Beast Mastery Hunter - sold by a vendor in Dalaran for 8k gold.

    4. Marksmanship hunter - sold by the Court of Farondis faction vendor, requires revered.

    5. Brewmaster monk - drops from the daily Brewhouse keg, and can be obtained with any spec and below level 110.

    6. Windwalker monk - random drop from the final chest in the withered training scenario, same as blood DK.

    7. Prot paladin - random drop from the final chest in the withered training scenario, same as above.

    8. Holy priest - combining two pieces (a boss drop and a vendor item) that both require exalted with Valarjar to obtain; not 100% confirmed since nobody got to exalted yet, but the vendor part is on the vendor.

    9. Subtlety rogue - Troves of the Thunder King scenario, BUT they can get keys from their class hall and queue from there via Taoshi, so this is still Broken Isles content.

    10. Resto shaman - random drop from Eye of Azshara (drops regardless of loot spec).

11 Destruction warlock - drop from their daily class boss.

None of the appearances with a known quest chain which started from a drop, appearances that dropped directly from mobs or dropped from the underbelly rares seem to be available right now.

My guess is either some of them got their own chains and we are required to find them out, OR that we need some sort of trigger, likely a reputation threshold, but also an unlocked quest or a talk with an NPC (like talking to Drak'thul unlocks the Kosumoth attunement), and then the items will drop from the expected sources or something similarly straightforward.

At least as far as the fire appearance goes, I'm pretty sure it will turn up in Suramar somewhere. The arcane staff is a bigger mystery...

I've been following that one closely too can't wait to see how it unfolds.

I was not trying to say one way or the other how it was obtained, because obviously we have no idea. Considering that we only actually know the item that gives us the appearance makes me think its gated behind something. It may be rep, a quest or questline, or a raid even. Without know what exactly may trigger the fire appearance its best to just keep the ideas flowing so we can try to make progress. Right now a lot of fire mages are still farming battlemasters and thicket hunters under the assumption that it dropped a few times in beta. All I want to do is encourage people to be more open to other ideas, as many have proved to be ignorant and will get defensive and hostile when I suggest that it will not drop. People on forums have been more open which is why I brought all of my late night theories here to see what people think.

I also just unlocked Court of Stars, so hopefully I can get in there today and look around while clearing and take time to see if there is anything that would point to it being related to this appearance.

    Hey!

I found the full "map" that some of you were posting about earlier in the thread.

It was in the bank vault during the Ebonchill quest.

While it does show the insignia of the Shadowmoon Orcs, I'm not quite sure how it would relate. They do have a history with astrology but with people saying old content wont be where we get the appearance I am hesitant to look deeper into this. That being said I did go back to my garrison just to see if Seer Kazal would offer anything new, but it seems he doesn't. http://imgur.com/a/3AoVu

The map is a generic Shadowmoon clan doodad.

Anyone reckon theres a relation to the 'star chart' toy?
    Maybe place taht somewhere

A theory I have is that the appearance is linked to the drop in Court of Stars named Self-Forging Credentials. The description of the relic reads: "These enchanted documents could probably get you into any party on the Broken Isles."

And I'm wondering if it would allow special interactions with NPCs if you had it equipped.

I posted that on wowhead page for The Stars' Design and I tried it out myself. The only logical place was Suramar City because there are literally stars falling from the sky. I spent a good half hour over there doing stuff. Nothing.

So at the very end of Suramar City there's a huge door. Behind the door there are enemies. Those enemies will murder your ass and there's no way for you to go through the door. Maybe, just maybe you've got something there? Forging? Stars' Design? Design for a Nightborne spellblade? Connections?

Maybe if we use the Mote of Light inside the Temple of Elune something may show up? The other, sadly, is now known as the Tomb of Sargeras. As we all know, going to the Tomb of Sargeras will simply cause you to be killed. It is possible that our hidden artifact is not actually obtainable currently, although it may be in the game. I'm not sure if Blizzard has said for sure that every single artifact is obtainable in Legion in its current state.
People would riot if only certain specs could access their first hidden appearance until presumably the final raid of the expansion (recall that there were two hidden appearances datamined). Some classes are kind of stuck because mythic+ dungeons and the Emerald Nightmare aren't available yet and several specs have item prerequisites or the entire appearance drop from there. I imagine several more unknown appearance locations are tied to it - or in Fire's case, more likely Mythic+ Court of Stars - as well.

I would expect every hidden appearance currently known to be found prior to 7.1. And guaranteed by 7.2.

EDIT: I completely forgot about world bosses, which also aren't available yet. I would expect those to be the source of at least one spec's hidden appearance. Na'zak the Fiend is a not-a-drider-honest world boss, and the only world boss in Suramar. Depending on where it is located and its associated "lore," we may be after it. There's nothing in its listed mechanics from WoWhead which would suggest a connection.

I was doing the Suramar grind again today, you know just in case my tinfoil hat wasn't quite tight enough. I found an npc that's location wasn't posted to wowhead. imgur /G8CcChK Here's the link to where I found her. Couldn't actually upload it to wowhead because of errors. I figured I'd share it because I couldn't find a way into her building. To be noted was that I had seen some demons escorted by an envoy and a engineer usually entering/ phasing into her building. Probably entirely unrelated but I figured I'd tighten your tinfoil hats too!

Sorry for splitting the link like that I just haven't posted here before. something something rules.

  17. #57
Interesting. I managed to clip my camera through and it appears you can talk to her...

Doesn't seem like the building has an inside though...

  18. #58
Maybe you can teleport inside from some place or find a way from above after using a grapple? I presume the good old "get killed and walk in as a ghost" didn't work.

However, her title from wowhead, <Make Me Civilian> seems a little odd, almost like a work in progress developer note ("make her civilian" so she doesn't aggro out of the building when you don't wear a disguise?). Does she still have it on live?

  19. #59
She does, yes. I don't know if she has anything to do with this, but...

Edit: Used a toy to look inside the house -

I guess she was just placed there to be out of sight.

It's possible she's a spawn marker for some types of mobs in the city, and they gave her a name and model for fun.

But then again, maybe she can be summoned somewhere if you trigger an event, I wouldn't write her out entirely, if only because the name seems to fit.
