How do you react when strangers approach your girl

Hey guys!

How do you men do when a stranger approaches your girlfriend? This night a random guy started talking to us in the bus and started to get touchy with my girlfriend (touching her leg, her hair). He maybe touched her 4 times in what seemed a harmless way.

My girlfriend was annoyed by the guy and so was I while I was running out of patience. Eventually he went of the bus and nothing happened.

Right now I feel like a piece of shit for not standing up for my girlfriend and tell him to fuck off, all just to evade an unneeded confrontation?

It's not that I was afraid to handle but more that the situation wasn't severe enough in my eyes for a confrontation.

Did I act right? What would've been a better approach? Any similar stories from you guys?

Why would you be the one telling him to go away? You're not the girl's parent, she's an adult who needs to learn how to tell people to fuck off herself if she doesn't appreciate being touched by strangers. I'm having a tough time imagining how somebody would not speak up if they don't appreciate being in that kind of position and just letting it happen, hoping for it to de-escalate.

If somebody started touching my girl I wouldn't be the fist one yelling, it would be her. She's only 5 ft tall but would no doubt construct a impressive string of swears and insults. You should be wondering why your own girl didn't speak up for herself imo

There's a difference in approaching and touching. Approaching and talking to my girlfriend is one thing and that's fine. The moment he touches her without her consent, I would stand between them facing him and ask him to leave.

Under different circumstances I would have to consider where to get rid of a body in a very crowded urban area. She came up through one of China's alternate education paths -- martial arts schools. In this case, it sounds like a guy who might be from an area where personal space is handled differently. As you said, it wasn't worth a confrontation. You might talk to your girlfriend to see how she prefers for you to handle such things. For all you know, she might be like my fiancee and prefer to handle things herself.

Real answer is closer to this. It depends on the level of relationship. If you're still individuals then she should have asked herself not to be touched and you would enforce that policy.

We don't live in a world where you can hurt someone else and get away without getting sued, or that even doing something like that wouldn't affect your career/other things in the future. You have to play it cool, don't feel bad.

This is how I would approach it. It's not my job to tell people for her not to molest her. That said, once she says it and they don't stop, I would force myself in between them.

I would question my girl on why she didn't seem to have a problem getting touched right in front of me. Not my job to be overly jealous and confront everyone who flirts with her. I'm more interested in seeing how she reacts (especially if it's right in front of me).

That was more than just approaching her. She'll eventually leave you for "him" because he dared to touch her while you watched her writhe in discomfort because you dared not defend her. He did it because he knew you were craven.

I'd give him one verbal warning, and if he started telegraphing that he was going to get physical, id knock him out before he even got out of the chair.
