Biscuits and Gravy

I like it with cube-steak and a generous dash of black pepper (the freshly ground stuff if available). Put that over some fresh biscuits and you've got a perfect breakfast spread in my opinion.

Noooooooooooope. At least, not the ones I've tried. All of the ones I've had used sausage gravy and it was just too...I don't know the word. Heavy? Made me feel sick.

You may be lactose intolerant. I used to wonder why a lot of breakfast foods made me sick (I thought maybe they were just too "greasy" or "heavy"), turns out it was the milk/butter (even the small amount of butter on pancakes/waffles would make me sick). Now I can pop a Lactaid and enjoy all the breakfast foods I want.

No, cube-steak is top round or top sirloin that has been vigorously tenderized with a tenderizing hammer or an electric tenderizer. It's named for the cube-shaped indentations left in the meat. Chicken fried steak is also very good, though.

depends on how it's made. there's really shitty biscuits and gravy and if done right...heavenly biscuits and gravy. and then there's ho hum biscuits and gravy. i usually just skip the gravy unless it's homemade.

OT- my step dads mom made the best gravy ever. My mom could make a solid replica of that. I love biscuits and sausage gravy. And as others have mentioned, plenty of black pepper.

Yes. All my yes. Biscuits and gravy, sausage gravy, cube steak (chicken fried steak) gravy, I don't care, it's all good. I can do chorizo, but only once in a while...that stuff tears me up for some reason.
