In most cases Flamestrike is useless compared to getting off large ignites with pyro that spread.
I mean the incentive to use Flamestrike vs Pyro. If adds die quickly, the fact that Flamestrike hits all of them and has Ignite ticking on all of them immediately is better. If the adds live 6+ seconds, the larger Ignite from Pyro has time to spread to at least 8 targets.
So if you already want to use Flamestrike for adds that die fast, why would you want to take a talent that needs them to live for 8 seconds to do full damage. Living bomb does the same amount of damage as Flame Patch with only 4-5 mobs, and if a mob dies early the explosion still hits the rest. Flame Patch can stack, and thus do more damage than Living Bomb, but that also means you're having to use Flamestrike and its lower Ignite instead of Pyro.
It honestly seems like they got the purpose of those talents mixed up, or didn't see the ramifications of spreading Ignite. Aftershocks would have made more sense as a talent, to add to the bursty nature of Flamestrike.
