All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side
So the teacher noticed the student making a video of him and then taking the flag from him, and enjoyed this bit of cheekiness so much that he marched it straight to the principle office himself but uploaded it online as well?
Okay Tony
There is only one reason why the student recorded this and then took it to the principal and I'll let you figure out the why.
"It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum... and I'm all outta ass."
I'm a British gay Muslim Pakistani American citizen, ask me how that works! (terribly)
1. Stepping on a flag is not going to damage it, particularly not in such a way that it would justify termination.
2. You want teachers to function as rote lecturers on predetermined curriculum?
3. He taught a highschool level course. These aren't frail little children who need to be protected from unpleasant ideas.
People get infracted for hateful posting behaviour. We're perfectly capable of understanding context and intent when evaluating such.
However, on this particular case, I seriously doubt that State's code of ethics bans teachers from this kind of action. This was in NC, and here's that State's teacher code of ethics; http://www.dpi.state.nc.us/docs/effe...-of-ethics.pdf
Nothing in there that stomping on a flag breaks.
Here's the school's site, I can't see anything on there his behaviour would be in breach of; http://mhchs.ccs.k12.nc.us/
And here's the student code of conduct for the school; http://ccs.k12.nc.us/wp-content/uplo...f-Conduct-.pdf
The student's behaviour falls under Class 1 and Class 2 violations, for insubordination and disruptive behaviour.
So no; you're making stuff up, basically.
Stomping on a flag doesn't "insult" anyone.

What's the direct personal insult, then?
And bear in mind that expressing discontent/dislike for a nation doesn't "insult" anyone personally.
It's pretty amazing that your entire argument is predicated on a complete failure to understand the basic civics concepts behind the teacher's lesson.
