I'm going to respectfully disagree. A tie is an abomination. You may be USED to that discomfort, but that doesn't make it comfortable.

What if I told you that you can wear a suit without tie? Some places require suit AND tie, but a suit doesn't inherently require a tie.

For the same reason all humans do really fucking stupid stuff that is to their own disadvantage: "It's normal, right?"
Long-established social standards (and the associated introduction to those standards during their youth) make them imagine that it looks good, or that there's some prestige with being allowed to wear them or whatnot.

I mean, I can see where fashion standards are originally coming from (attempting to look good to attract mates for reproduction), but high heels (aswell as almost all modern fashion trends) are definitely not contributing to that.



Don't get me wrong, dudes do the same stupid stuff. Suits for example are a piece of fashion that has no business existing: unless you dole out 5x my yearly income for a suit, it's uncomfortable as fuck to wear and rips to shreds as soon as you try to move in a natural way.

Why are women so fascinated with shoes that are quite obviously uncomfortable to wear. You can tell by how they walk in them or how the shoe is shaped that they are uncomfortable. So why do they choose to wear them?

I really can't say much for the skinny jeans thing. Around my area, it really isn't a thing much anymore. Sometimes at a show, i'll see a young dude on stage wearing them. But it's only occasionally.
