Miami police want to speak to a Coral Gables man in connection with the theft of the now-famous naked Donald Trump statue that was stolen from Wynwood early Thursday.
According to police, the 2013 Ford F-150 pickup that witnesses reported being used in the theft is registered to Pedro Alejandro Rodriguez, 36.
Rodriguez is a "person of interest" in the case, police said.
The Trump statue had been in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood for about a week.
Security guards saw the statue-in-the-buff of the Republican presidential candidate being swiped from its display along Northwest Second Avenue and 23rd Street and called police, WSVN-Ch. 7 reported.
The statue, which has popped up in several cities across the country, first showed up in Wynwood on top of a billboard visible from Interstate 95 but was removed because police said it posed a potential traffic hazard.
It later turned up at the location overlooking Second Avenue.
