Generally speaking when one side is releasing it's findings with nothing to support it and the other is releasing findings with nonsense to support it people will generally be more inclined to believe the one that actually backs up what it says (even if it's backing it up with nonsense).

IMO the "classified" data should be made public because without it they are just saying "trust us", which in the post WMD world is worth less than nothing. It really didn't help that the investigators got the type of warhead used wrong and then had it rubbed in their face either. Now is not the time for being secretive and hoping people trust you more than the other guy, it's the time to show people you're right and they're wrong (if they can).

The problem with Finland is that so many of our current politicians are scared shitless of giving our Western overlords (EU/US) the impression of being "subservient little bitches to Russia". They are too afraid to lead the country in a way that is in our best interests; instead they act how they think the EU/US would want us to act -- no matter how much it hurts our own well-being and prosperity. A good example of this is when Finland refused to let the Russian delegates attend to the OSCE meeting in Helsinki. An absolutely retarded decision on our part but O-M-G someone in the West might've whispered the word "Finlandization" had we made the right choice. (Finlandization actually works in the opposite direction these days...)

If those who supply the weapons are the one's guilty when those weapons are used to kill, then the US would be guilty all over the world. I agree that the entity that fired the weapons should be held responsible. The problem most people have with sanctions is that they take so long to kick in. Most people want immediate retribution for actions against their interest. Once sanctions have started to bear their effect, people are usually in favor of those sanctions.
