Flawed gearing system, stuck at 845 ilvl

I did not really read much but your post heading, and i completely agree.. I hit ilvl 846 on 13th sept, have moved up at all since. No gear drops from mythics are optimal for me, I guess im just shit out of luck, mythic + runs i just get alot of talismans and rings with rubbishl stats, even my helm from he cache was a 865 only using it for the AGI the sec stats are again crap, and raids haven't dropped shit in two normal clears. Now i guess hoping for LFR to give me something wf, and try more mythic + this week. But yes i agree.. its a shit system 10/10 behind you with this. Not to mention, been using defensive relics in 2 slots forever now "yeah cloak heals me when i use it with dots" thanks man so much dps increase and 3rd slot has BtE dmg increase, oooookay then ! Anyway cheers so glad saw this post and got to rant and let out some of my frustration.

You should be fine as havok, the havok DH I play with very frequently is about the same ilvl but pulls way ahead of me, mostly for aoe, but keeps up with ST

His burst at 8+ mobs is ussually around 1.6mil and falls down to about 700k dps by the time it dies with most trash, bosses his ST dps is around 220k-260k dps depending how long the fight lasts

My own aoe is random between 1.1mill at large pulls and 400k depending how long they stay alive for, my ST is the same, dependant on how long the boss lives, so 200k-260k

2 days 22 hours at level 110 on my shaman, ilvl 846. The only raids it's done is LFR, and it's only had 2 lockouts for mythics and mythic+

So, with raiding and Mythic+ which has the equivalent of early raid gear as rewards.

Looted every single bit of loot I could - world quests, dungeons, heroics, mythics if you can, emissary. The more blues you loot from WQs the more chance one will proc up. Then farm order resources to upgrade your class hall set if needed.

To be honest - the hardest gap was 800 to 810 for me.

In other words, you're selling something that's possible but extremely unlikely; so I'm going to call "BS" on your erstwhile claim.

I had a world quest chest proc up to 890 so it is worth doing them if one wants gear as their is a chance it can upgrade. Now is it great or happen a lot? No, but a chance and that is nice.

I usually take some WQ with loot along even though I don't expect any procs because I am an enchanter, so I can use anything to DE.

Besides that, I am also plagued by the fact that I almost never got mythic groups except in some rare cases (the ones needed for the artifact questline and one of two for Suramar quests), and with some gear pieces from these, some WF luck, and some drops from EN LFR I got to 845. I also have some 840 upgraded order hall set pieces and my artifact weapons for frost and fire are a bit above 860.

My main problem is probably the scarcity of groups I want to run with, in the first place. Most are running mythic+ which I would not dare at the moment since my frost artifact ist still not at the 2nd golden trait and my fire artifact is only at the 1st golden trait. I am also a bit risk-aversive and rather overgear the place than going somewhere undergeared. I did not start to apply to mythics before 840.

But still, your story is a bit strange, because its even worse than mine and I cannot imagine this from somebody who thinks that he is a hardcore player.

What? My outlaw rogue is doing well, though behind the frost mage in gear, and I don't even play optimal with RtD. Cannot believe this either.

Edit: There is a flaw in this system, and this is lack of bad luck protection. I mean real bad luck protection, not this crap with the coin which almost always turns into gold instead of loot. There should be something which grants you a 100% shot for loot after an uninterrupted number of boss kills without any loot (per category, like heroic dungeon / mythic dungeon / raid difficulty 1 / 2 / 3 ...). I also dislike the RNG in warforged / titanforged, even though I already have profited from it. It's too much lottery for my taste, and I don't like lotteries. I would rather get "paid" in loot for effort invested, not for a good roll.

- WQ gives tops 825 or 830 blues, nothing higher, NEVER any higher than that. I check EVERY day.

That's bullshit, period. My druid alt 815 has nearly everday a 835+ epic WQ

Install PLH it helps showing if someone in your group has an upgrade for you and ask him gently

- Cleared EN twice. Got 1 gear, 850, that was barely an upgrade. Six times I coined gold (3 per week).

A bit on the bad luck side, but nothing exceptional. I myself only got one loot in 14 NM and 6 HM Boss kills.
Not only is it in the margin of loot chance. But raiding isn't the best way to gear anymore, at least not NM/HM if all you care about is your ilvl.

HOW am I suppose to gear up? Spamming Mythic Dungeon after Mythic Dungeon week after week and praying for a 850 drop doesn't seem like a fun way to progress into the expansion.

I still find really strange that someone in a mythic guild can't find some optimised mythic dungeon rush. Maxing your armor class type and trading gear is pretty much what any organised guild did.

I cleared EN with my guild in split run, once they start mythic, those runs stop. I am screwed then, as no group will invite me due to low ilvl AND even if they do, PuGs dont seem to clear more then 1 boss...

You have a guild.

Ask socials / alts / other guildies to make a group for mythic+. I don't really see why your only options would be to pug. It might even be enough to befriend 1 tank or healer from the guild to kick start your pug.

I'm currently 846 and i'm capable of M+8, if you can't find a group then try to join or run with a guild, your gear is fine also for EN heroic.

Although on terms of getting more gear, yeah, Blizzard screwed up with the ultra RNG systems for loot. (In my own opinion)

Basically this. I'm in a guild though whose progressing heroic right now so they know my skill compared to my Ilvl. I'm stuck at 845 with average 850 Ilvl, nothing good has been dropping. I mainly bank on our heroic raids each week along with the mythic+ chest at the end of the week. That seems to net me the best gear upgrades.

Just start a group with 840+ as req. You'll get tons of people wanting to join, and it'll be smooth enough.

Gearing slows down at 845ish, but it is in no way a place you are "stuck." As pointed out already WQ gear has a base line up to 840 and will titanforge up to about 890. You have a chance at legendaries, world bosses drop baseline 860 gear. You aren't going to be getting tons of upgrades every day. This tier kind of needs to last a while.

Start your own group, make and play with friends this is an mmo after all or join a guild. Trying to play this game as a solo dps has its drawbacks like tougher to find groups. If you don't want to do any of those 3 things then you are looking for a solution but just want to complain.
