    Hurricane Matthew

Found it odd that nobody is talking about this destructive force which may possibly hit the US as soon as Late Thursday, early Friday AM.
It's currently tearing Haiti a new one. My relatives in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic report a LOT of rain but that's about it.

What do a divorce in Arkansas, a tornado in Kansas, and a hurricane in Florida have in common?

Somebody's fixin' to lose them a trailer.

This Saturday morning I am driving from North Carolina to Florida, right adjacent to the East Coast. Hoping we will have an easy drive

Be careful. I read that the NC Governor issued a state of emergency.

Poorest in the western hemisphere, top 20 in the world.

It's sad, really. Haitians are truly hard working individuals. Being from DR myself, they do the jobs Dominicans don't want to do for stupid low wages just to support their families in Haiti.

it's stuff like this that probably creates athiests. if it weren't for my idea that whatever's out there could be malevolent or uncaring that we exist, i probably would be.

hopefully it'll die out before it does any damage here at least.

How did you get to mod stats making only 1000 posts in 5 years?

Here's a fun video for you to listen to while you make post #1001.

Miami resident here, we are on high alert atm. I might actually install shutters this time, guess we are due for an actual hurricane after being lucky for the past decade.

Reports on the news are that most of the bottled water is gone from the stores and only the really expensive water left.

If you have access to your hot water heater that stores 30-40 gallons, usually can get to it by a little faucet on the side, but turn off the water heater and wait for it to cool down of course.

I was never in a direct hit by a hurricane but had one close miss. The skies go all freaky and there's a lot of energy in the air. Reminds me of a fantasy setting.

I listen to a comedian once say, why do they name hurricanes this way? Like Hurricane Danny. ooo I am so scared (sarcastic tone) He said they should have names like Hurricane Mother ****er! You hear that, you know you need to evacuate "Holy shit! Hurricane MFer is on it's way!"

And yet people condemn those who prep and have supplies for just an occasion. The horror.

We haven't had a major hurricane threat in FL in awhile. Matthew is pretty powerful and people on the east coast are treating it as if it was going make landfall, good thing it isn't because it's a huge storm. But a storm of its magnitude doesn't need to make landfall to fuck shit up, especially along the coast. Flooding will be an issue in some parts because we've already been getting a lot of rain. Just had a meeting at work about Thursday and Friday.
