Certainly, I should think that Nomi should be able to give you something other than badly burnt food. It would be nice to get "scraps" of the recipes over time and put them together or for Nomi to give us quests in which we finish the rank 2/3 quests.
However, RNG is RNG in the mission table. If you dont like that, thats your problem. I do enjoy it.
My alt is a DH herbalist/alchemist. All my herbalism skills and alchemy recipes are at level 2. I have been doing them both since a week after launch. Don't have rank 3 in anything. There is absolutely nothing I can do about it since all of it locked behind RNG. I have become rather apathetic about it. I would have excitedly worked toward them if there was a deterministic way to obtain them like the rank 3 tailoring/enchanting recipes on my main; which were all gated behind exalted rep. I was happy to do the world quests to get the rep to exalted to get those recipes. But gate it behind RNG? Even if I get them now, I won't be happy.
Some level of RNG is good and is needed but too much RNG sucks. I cannot fathom why Blizz thinks it is fun and has injected so much of it into literally every aspect of the game from my mastery to gear to professions to anything else you can think of.

It's more like whenever you need to walk, you need to roll a 6 to take each step. Keep rerolling the dice till you get a 6, take one step and rinse and repeat. See how fun that is.

With regards to the Follower/Champion count, I personally am of the mind that they should have given us 6 slots. As most classes (read: all but 2) have 3 specs, this would allow for you to have 2 of each spec available. This would be ideal for the follower system as missions often require a certain spec for completion and I've had situations where I've had 5 missions available and literally all of them required the same boss counter of which I had only 1 follower with that counter active. I did have 1 other counter, but the follower was underleveled and undergeared for the mission due to that follower not having the Bodyguard trait that the other follower had. But I do agree that limiting it to a small number is better than the 20 or 25 we had with Garrisons, which became way too much a focal point of the game.
The whole randomness gives the game actually a lot of replayability and I am not even bored yet
do not do import missions via the app.
