Newton has taken way too many hits between the Superbowl and this year, that probably got in his head. Confidence matters SO much, and it seemed like Cam lost his. Struggling offenses put more pressure on defenses, and their front 7 isn't doing as well this year which is what made their secondary look good last year. Plus, this team has been kind of a yoyo. 7 wins to 12 to 7 to 15 to whatever this year.

Plus Peanut Tillman retired, so they were on their 3rd and 4th corners starting and released one of them already.

I think someone cursed the Panthers to only have a pass rush every other year.

I think this is a good pickup by the lions. I liked the little I saw of him last year, and his numbers were solid. Plus the Lions havent had a good running game for quite a while and him plus riddick and abdullah when he comes back could be decent.

Like Bradford, if he can stay healthy he's a good player. That IF is the big problem though, I don't think Long has finished a season healthy the past 3 or 4 years.
