If that happened moving to Australia would be a good idea. The northern hemisphere would be a glowing unpleasant wasteland.

Honestly, China's economic bubble may have already popped - it's floating along now on good intentions and the lag-time before the non-economists realize something is wrong. The moment confidence in China vanishes, they'll deflate. Now, they have all the tools necessary to obfuscate that deflation - by controlling their currency and the exit of funds out of China being very hard/impossible - so it won't pop the way a developed economy does (due to transparency), but they may already be over the tipping point.

I don't anticipate a shift to expansionist war though - it's just not really how the world works nowadays. Instead, the Chinese rich will keep getting richer, and the Chinese poor will get fucked/die (no offense to them, but that's the tragic reality).

The Chinese economy survived this long off US trade and US consumption, but the US isn't funneling all their demand to China anymore - and that's good for virtually everyone else (more competitive global markets, more stable US trade relations) - but it pulls the artificial stimulus out from the Chinese economy: that alone is likely enough to pop China's meteoric (and unrealistic) rise over the past couple decades.

Considering the current election, I'd say moving to Australia now is a good idea.

Degenerative obese pederasts (which is the majority of murica's white male population)can't fight. Yes, murica's military pros are one of the best if not the best, but when ww happens a full mobilization is required, and pro's usually die during the 1st year of war and blacks won't fight and die, cause y'know "Black lives matter" (lol).

lol u must be living in a cave, or retarded: Russia and China are the closest allies politically, perform joint drills yearly, support each other in UNSC, and China and murica are on edges for decades already, thx to Mr. Odumbo, he presented China to Russia on a silver platter when started some nonsensical bullshit in the South China Sea. If murica ceases to exist it would be best even for China, yes, it would be a disaster in short run, but in long run China can redistribute its goods. Ironically murica is 4th or 5th trading partner for Russia. That's why those "sanctions" are so laughable, uncle Sam still wants his fucking Mcdonalds and KFC's rolling in Russia.

Pretty much this. Before you had the chance to even say whether you'd physically go out and fight, you'd have to survive the near destruction of the species. Not sure nations would matter much after the first few volleys were through.

Just to add some seriousness too this thread :

This fight is already happening. We don't engage in total war anymore, we're squeamish in that sense. I mean we have the hardware too but we don't. It's not how modern war works. Proxies, cyberwar and geopolitical influence and propaganda is how the big teams fight nowadays.

I think parts of the world will avoid it (ex. liberal socialist city-states, with strong financial regulations and political transparency), parts will suffer an Elysium scenario (an even more extreme distribution of wealth than we already have).

The good news is it's temporary - robots will come and take all our jobs - creating untold new global wealth due to the increase in (robot) labor. We'll begin mining asteroids, forever shifting the hard commodities markets of Terra to a point where iPhones cost a few dollars to produce (all the expensive metals now being virtually free by comparison to today). We will see the internet connect people in ways still not yet imaginable - and we will reap a harvest of innovation and new ideas as literally billions of minds are now devoted to the sole task we still have some value in: innovation/creation.

In the next century I expect more change to occur than in the last millennia, but the outcome will inexxorably be that human wealth leaps from some trillions globally, to quadrillions, even quintillions (of wealth, in today's understanding, not to be confused with currency/hyper-inflation - which may also happen - but is mostly irrelevant here). I can't help but imagine that at some point, some of that has to trickle down - because eventually feeding everyone on Earth with the fanciest foods and the finest wines will still be lost pocket change to the sum of what is to come.

That is, if we survive the next century.

China is way more likely to fight with the Russians than the US.

China and Russia have fought over the border before.

Russia does love it's military posturing.

It wouldn't happen and people wouldn't use their nukes. People tend to have some sense of self-preservation and not take action that would get themselves killed. The nukes really just serve as a status symbol and as a deterrent against people who don't have them. The Chinese aren't stupid and if Putin was insane enough to consider it the oligarchs would no doubt step in.

Should it happen though, NATO would easily defeat those 2. The Chinese might have a lot of troops, but they lack the capacity to project this power beyond their own borders. NATO's air and naval superiority will make sure they aren't able to do anything while their economy collapses, their infrastructure becomes non-existent and they inevitably surrender or face civil war.

The Russians might very well be able to push into Europe, notwithstanding immediate economic collapse, but they won't reach the channel in a month. People may joke about the poor state of the European militaries, but in case of total war don't underestimate their production capacity or technological superiority. Once the Volkswagen factories start producing bullets and planes it's only a matter of time before the invaders are both outgunned and outclassed.

I'd fight if it was needed, if my countries existence was threatened, but I doubt that would happen. Both opponents would have to deal with the inevitable economic/ social chaos before they could make any significant military gains. And if they did, they would never be able to hold on to them.

More proxy wars and cyber attacks are more likely to happen if tensions rise.

Really don't get the idea of anything thinking China would ally with Russia. China wants their land.

Why are people shipping Russia with China? Stop trying to make it happen, it won't. China has much less to gain from a war with their biggest trading partners, than from a landgrab of resource-rich siberia.

No one would be fighting for long, nukes weould kill pretty much all.

Over what exactly? Who's got the bigger dick? Syria? Ukraine?
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

The top export destinations of China are the United States ($432B), Hong Kong ($258B), Japan ($166B), Germany ($101B) and South Korea ($88.9B). The top import origins are South Korea ($142B), the United States ($134B), Other Asia ($131B), Japan ($131B) and Germany ($96.7B).

Russia isn't even on the list of the top Chinese trading partners, it's all US and allies of the US.

I would expect it to be a war started by China for lebensraum in Japan, S Korea and Taiwan.
