Let's hope that Ion learned from WoD and what not to do in World of Warcraft.

I think that if he was moving to a already released project they would say it. New Blizzard game maybe?

YES, ION is the guy who developped WOTLK raids and so forth right? YES, couldn't be someone better than him!

No, I mean quiting wow, tbh kinda a good thing feels like he has lost touch with the game anyways

I've discussed it online (in different places) and offline about the chance of still seeing an Overwatch MMO.

If Titan was well into development chances are that they have taken a chunk of it, grabbed the most prominent characters and slapped them all into a "smaller" game to not only generate initial hype but also establish Lore. Just like they did with Warcraft to start off with.

Curiously enough that thought has retreated to the back of my mind until today... Actually woke up thinking about it again and have spent the whole day thinking about it and now... I read these news. Awesome coincidence.

(Keep in mind that these are just my thoughts. Not here pretending I'm giving concrete information. haha )

So we might see a new Blizzard IP in 2022. Ok, cool.

That sound was the joy-filled raucous of the overwhelming majority of Ret Players, now that they can move past the taint of Kalgan.

Seriously though, can't wait for Ion to step up. He's done a great job so far and he's the only one who really spoke truthfully about WoD. He also seems to be the one who has the most excitement towards the game. Can't wait.

Wonder what project Tom switched to. It's obviously something new or they would've said where he's going.
If we talk to the doomsayers theres a chance at a free toy right?

I just hope Class design/balance doesn't get even worse as a result of this. It's the one aspect of Legion that I am notably disappointed in, and the rate (and seeming lack of willingness) of Ion and co to tackle actual design flaws/concerns for multiple specs throughout the alpha, beta, live, and now towards the release of the first major patch is worrying. There's a distinct air of "this is how the spec works now, sorry if you don't like it" that makes me concerned that existing issues will not be touched on for pretty much the entirety of Legion.

Quite the contrary. WoW was taking a bad turn, seems like Blizzard realized that and is changing their perspectives.
There's also the possibility that it's a huge coincidence (or no at all) that all the guys who are forever on the same job are on the move, just like what usually happens to people who are forever on the same job. Happens to everything from game companies to music bands, people are always on the move.

The new project he is moving to is Blizzard Adult aka World of Porncraft. Seeing how popular warcraft and overwatch porn is they decided to capitalize on the adult industry as well. Its the real reason they were trying to stop all that sfm porn.

Glad i just stop giving my money to blizzard for this shitty wow game....

I am not saying it because I want to see wow to end but seriously get all the clues. Guys are stepping out of it because the have already finished it. At least the story and the direction it is headed. Of course there is still work to be done on those ending expansions but that is mostly for art team and coders.

Or they are changing their perspective? Giving someone new and experienced the leadership role. No point in arguing though, you'll stick to your belief that WoW is dead no matter what I or anyone else says.

They already said there is plenty more expansions to come. It's the same people that have worked on it for around 10 years. That would get tedious eventually.

WoW couldn't be in better hands than Ion's.

I love how all the doomsayers are claiming this is a nail in WoW's coffin, when all the decisions about the direction of the game since Wrath were overseen by Kalgan. You won't go broke betting on those very same doomsayers crying about those decisions.

    Theorycrafter done good. Congratulations!
