Being the ones who have to initiate contact (most of the time) is what kills men. They are always in the vulnerable positions when initiating contact. They can be discarded easily since another man will most likely take his place instantly.

Thankfully, this doesn't apply as much at school and workplaces where you have more time to meet people. But yes, it's no secret that a woman who wants to get laid can easily find a match better looking than her, while men may have to lower their standards and still face a high chance of failure.

When I was younger and in good shape getting laid was VERY easy. And even though I'm not THAT ugly I'm no prince charming either, though I am quite tall, which helps a bit.

Now that I'm older and a bit on the chubby side it's pretty much impossible unless I get super lucky or lower my standards by a lot... Which I'm not willing to do.

Then again I could probably get laid more if getting fat didn't destroy my confidence... And since I'm kinda too lazy to do much about it I'm not really in a position to whine either.

You could also pretty much consider me a blind man when it comes to noticing women that are trying to flirt with me.... Which wasn't a problem when I was fit as I never had to initiate the contact myself as they'd just come talk to me and I'd eventually "get the hint".

Big issue is schedule difference. I usually work 11am-11pm 5 days a week. She works 8-5 but takes kids so gets up at 5:30-6:00. So by the time I get home she is asleep. And by the time I really wake up she is gone.
