Hell I just want to see a version of the Warcraft I loved pre and even post cata before WoD and Legion hit and this game turned into a mass RNG casino fest.

Deathknell and Northshire have been changed greatly.

They have not been "changed greatly". Every road and house are where they always were.

The dungeon quests are all different and many stories ... are completely different.

Who cares? You can still receive quest at an !-marked NPC, kill/collect/activate what is needed, and return it to a ?-marked NPC for the reward: experience, gold or selection of items.

The only thing ZG has in common with its original version is the map file. The encounters, NPCs, and story are all completely different.

It's not I agree. Doesn't mean Blizzard still don't own the rights to it. However the core mechanic of the RPG aspect is which is level up, do quests, raid, dungeon and PvP in WoWs case.

Oh totally, but I'm not sure boiling it down to core aspects is a safe avenue to look at it from; simply because there are lots of games that include those specific things that are very much "not WoW" but heyoo, I was just passing through. I saturated myself with this thread ages ago, so I'll busy myself elsewhere until either Blizzard or Nostalrius come up with a solution

And you still get to do 8-task quest there and kill a guy, exactly like in Vanilla.
ZG is still populated with bosses, having maybe a couple of siderooms shut off. The content is the same, the pondering over trivial differences is hair-splitting.

Can you at least name 10 non-trivial differences between Vanilla and the current game?

Blizzard starts releasing new content for both retail and vanilla.

There is a good possibility for WoW to gain subscribers from vanilla->TBC conversion. That will be interesting to see.

Well i mean the thing is Vanilla had no alternative, people were in it for the long haul because there was no alternative. I doubt many people who want vanilla servers would make it up to BWL these days given it takes about 15 days played to get to 60 if you do it quick let alone get the RNG for the fire resist gear it takes to clear MC.

I would play both Live as Classic
i was a Fury warrior (Casual, i did not raid) back in Classic and only rarely tanked a dungeon. If i were giving the possibility i'd make a warrior again and go full prot

sometimes some forum members may forget /15 days played is an extraordinary amount of time to do any recreational activity for many people.

leveling was the primary game, with (leveling) instances and bg's thrown in, for most players.
