    Question is CRIT > Haste now?

    Hello guyz,
    i've seen many top hunters prefer Crit over Haste

    What is you opinion about this .I am using mosty Haste and Mastery gear!

    Thank you in advance!

    Have a nice day!

    Haste is almost always gonna be better per point than Crit, unless you end up with very little Crit and a lot of Haste.

    The DPS difference is not very large.

    Everything depends on breakpoints with your gear anyways, there's no set in stone stat to go for constantly. Haste is the preffered stat of the two and most likely will remain that way until we get into 900ilvl+ territory. Don't just blindly copy profiles of "top hunters" as you won't really know why they have made the decisions they have. They could have hit a certain amount of haste naturally with their item level that enabled crit to be worth slightly more per point, but only if it's not replacing haste.

    what you should never forget is that some of the stuff in EN simply does not have haste on it but tons of mastery and extra agility.

    Looks like crit and haste are almost exactly the same for MM but crit is a tiny bit ahead.

    Mastery 9.62
    Crit 6.77
    Haste 6.58
    Vers 5.83

    Just because they have the "MOD" tag does not mean they're a mod of the sub they post in. It means they're a mod *somewhere*. As indicated by his signature, that doesn't happen to be the hunter class forum .

    You are right. My mistake.

    That being said.

    How can someone say something so confidently with incorrect information?

    Maybe he/she simmed their own character and came to those weights?

    Probably because it's no more or less correct than whatever stat weightings you believe to be "correct".

    Stat weightings are going to vary a ton depending on your gear and relics so there's no point in claiming that one would be the absolute truth. E.g. having high haste to begin with, trueshot relics and legendary boots will inflate your crit stat weighting whereas having high crit and vulnerability relics will inflate your haste stat weighting.

    If only the guide told people to sim their own weights if they want something that's more accurate and tailored for their character, sheesh.

    I skipped that part so I can use plausible deniability.

    The guide was great to get started gearing up but once you get some gear you really really need to sim your toon.

  17. #17
    Simming your own character for stat weightings is absolutely necessary. Values of stats for MM bounce around so much based on your gear that any number provided from a source that isn't your own sim is meaningless. I had 2 rings today a mastery crit and a mastery haste, each time i equipped one and simmed it, the difference of that stat shifting would indicate that the other was suddenly an upgrade. Also, when comparing my own personal stat weight to the default "marksmanship" stat weight that comes with the pawn addon, items that are a significant downgrade often show up as upgrades of 20% or more due to those flawed stat values.

    tldr: stat weights you didn't sim yourself are basically worthless.

    The default Pawn weight is Agi 1, everything else 0.5. EleGiggle

    Maybe compare your sim weights to the guide weight if you wanna prove a point.

  19. #19
    Heh, I actually sim Agi > Mastery > Versa > Crit > Haste. That will teach me to gear before sim'ming myself.

  20. #20
    Actually, the default marksmanship weights that come preloaded in pawn are
    Agi = 7.82
    Crit = 6.77
    Haste = 6.58
    Mastery = 9.62
    Versatility = 5.83

    Perhaps your addon is out of date?

    Now that I look at it this is probably where Iawomous got his numbers from.
