r.i.p. alleria. 1997-2017. blizzard ruined alleria forever. blizz assassinated alleria's character and appearance.
i will never forgive you for this blizzard.
well, i guess that happens when you have only guns in your head instead of more important things like worker rights
40hours/week is already alot and making people work more is just cruel

Anything above 6h per day of work seems unreasonable to me.
I do not live in stereotypes of US/EU/Asian and i do not care if there are norms.
I will probably die poor on the streets but i will never slave my self like that ever.
But food stamps are also un-American.

Well, we have the most powerful army*, so there's that.
*At the expense of pretty much everything else, but who cares when you can bomb the shit out of brown people in Abdullahstan while in your PJs in an Air Force base in Oklahoma.

I'm so happy I'm not american then as I work way more that 40 hours and 25% on top of that... Ouch!
Not sure addicted is the right word to be tossing around. I'm pretty sure if people could work less and get better benefits in terms of time off they'd happily accept it. Our protection under the law is not nearly as strong as it is in the EU so therefore employers aren't going to change. Yeah you see some of the bigger companies (Apple/Google,etc) offer better benefits in terms of time off/vacation/etc but its more as a perk to recruit people and to retain that top tier talent. You'll never see the average company provide such benefits unless they're legally required to do so. Hell look at how archaic maternity leave here is in the states still. It's terrible but unless our government actually did something it won't change and since citizens united and lobbyists for big corporations..it never will.
The sad truth is as soon as you ease up on the reigns more people will choose slack off and be lazy than people who become more motivated and work harder.
While I definitely agree I'd be a happier employee if I got the same pay and worked less hours. I can also probably get the same amount of work done too but that is not true for everyone. I am sure some sectors could benefit from a shorter work day but there are many many others where that would be a detriment.
Worker rights HYPE kappa
Maybe this is just me being an asshole and all, but I have problems filling my 38h with work and I'm actually a "worker" (you know, someone that has to move stuff with his hands) - shit-mid tier worker class.
What do people even work as when they do 45h/weeks. Slaves?
I literally *hide* myself whenever I'm done with *my* work, so I don't have to do more stuff. Working 10h a day? Oh gawd, the day would never end. How can you even stay productive for that long - every day - every week - every month. Whenever I have to do additional hours, or arrive at work on saturday, the *whole* workplace is like... 60% less effective.
