    Nope.

I moved out when I was 20 and lived on my own for a year. Fell on hard times and had to move back in with my Mother. I joined the Army at age 25 and have been on my own since. Now I am married with 3 children, soon to be 4.

I lived on my own for 3 years. I hated my job so when I got deployed to Kuwait (still there), I used that as a chance to start over. So I'll be living with my parents for an indeterminate amount of time again until I find a new job.

26 years old and still living in my parents basement. But I have a job, I workout, and a girlfriend who doesn't mind who I still live with. So I guess I'm satisfied.

  4. #104
I left my parent's house when I was 16. I managed to survive by selling by body and today I'm a successful businessman

If you think about it, it's really a scumbag thing to do to move out and leave your single parent to fend for themselves just because you want some independence and freedom.

If you're supporting your parents financially, then you should leave so they can stand on their own feet.

Yes, thankfully. I greatly appreciate their generosity, considering I'm 27.

Its so true. I mean I'm 32 and live on my own but i moved back in with Mom and Dad a few times over the years until I could afford a place. There is no shame in that!

My parents passed away over a decade ago. My wife and I are beginning to think about retirement plans in about 10 years.

What. That's probably the opposite of what most parents would consider to be the case.

Some people have parents who aren't well. Pretty scumbag thing to do to leave them to survive on government assistance or at a poorly run home for the aged.

Some people, yes. But you didn't specify it as "to leave your elderly/not well parent" but instead opted for "to leave your single parent". The first case isn't great, there is nothing inherently wrong about the second though.

Have you seen divorce rates and the state of society? Not everyone is growing up entitled and in a well off household.

Because if not, then some moderator decided to do that on their own I guess.

    Live with roommates

I'd prefer to live alone but SoCal is expensive unless you go inland. Which...yuck inland. Desert. Hot. LOL.
