What's with socially inept people being politically adept?

People with avoidant personality disorder are so self-educated on politics, foreign policy, government types. Able to coherently piece together debates and anti-authoritarian arguments when it suits them. But it's always behind a veil of anonymity that these types of people come out, on sites like 4chan or even in a few threads here.

Is it some stew of self-loathing, insecurity, misanthropy and severe depression that turn people into experts on fascism, nazism, communism, and hatred of "the system"? Because anecdotally, I've never come across someone who looked mildly well-mannered and normal, not hiding behind anonymity, blowing up into a rant about socialism and drawing comparisons to extreme forms of government that occurred in the past and applying it to today's political landscape.

And I'm not saying "being anonymous = all that above". But you can certainly tell with vocabulary choice, opinions on social issues (feminism, for example) and personal story drops that some of the most extreme political minds have a pretty shitty life. Look no further than some places like the red pillers section of Reddit, or the political section of 4Chan and other various message boards.

What's with this, anyone else noticing this trend? It's like you can put a Guy Fawkes mask on the person behind the words and it'd be a perfect fit.

Dunno. Why do people on the internet pretend to be psychologists?

It's a little bit of a positive feedback loop. But introversion and thinking personalities are also correlated.

Another good example. I think it's because when anonymous, people always strive to be the smartest, since brains is the only method of judgement online.

Thanks for the redpill... Feeling much better now

Democracy ensures that the dumbest people have an equal voice, one of the consequences of this is the only motivation to become politically intelligent is self driven. The politicians we elect are a reflection of the society we live in.

Especially places like 4Chan where normal social discourse is not present people who are used to being shunned on the outside speak their mind in anonymity.

(self-loathing, insecurity, misanthropy and severe depression) being a pretty closely linked along with actual social exclusion. Remember those kids that used to be hit because they were different? Yeah, that's the bunch. Oftentimes also more intelligent than the rest..

What redpill? Are you just speaking more nonsense?

It's because people like that are viewing society from the sidelines. Just as with soccer, you'll always have a better overview of the situation and what should be changed from the sidelines

I think that pretty well covers it. :/

I've tried it. People spout nonsense like "you don't know what you're talking about" or "socialism is evil." Or they spout some random nonsense that defies reality.("Obama is trying to destroy the Constitution!!") Especially from people who haven't the slightest clue of history or economics. You tend to start losing friends and your family starts thinking your nuts. I have only a handful of times had a decent conversation with people about these subjects.

It's so much easier to talk about it on forums. You can articulate your argument much more coherently. You can fact check yourself before you post something. It's harder to mix up your arguments, even though I still do it on here. :/

Maybe more people are dead inside than what we're lead to believe in our daily lives. After all, it's ridiculously easy to wear the mask of socially acceptable routines in the meatspace: just smile.

Do they say that because you're ugly?

    Now I'm a psychologist!

Redpillers and /pol/ aren't adept at anything, it's pretty much an echo chamber of frustrated twentysomething neckbeards circlejerking about how outrageous those horrible feminazis and SJWs are. And by feminazis and SJWs I mean random college students with some very confused political ideas.

I'd define a politically "adept" person as one being capable of using well-constructed historical and evidence-based arguments, which, well, aren't a big thing on /pol/ to say the least ;D

You sound like a frustrated random college student. Have you actually asked them why do they think so? You usually receive when you ask there...

That might have plenty of time to be politically adept.

I'm not their mummy, I have no obligation to care. To know a board, you lurk a board. You don't ask anons to write you personal blogs ffs.

It's generally called "learning things"... and you don't have to be socially inept to do it. Nor be some passive aggressive, pseudo-intellectual schmuck that tries to diminish people he doesn't aggree with by pretending to assume they have mental disorders.

Have you ever noticed how writing isn't speaking? Ever thought that may have a lot to do with the differences between communicating on the internet vs real life? Have you at least considered the significantly greater risks associated with breaking norms of face to face communication and civility vs being a pretentious asswipe on the internet? Possibly that those rules of interpersonal communication exist specifically to prevent people going on monologues about potentially divisive subjects outside of specifically defined contexts? No? /sigh.
