It has to be driven by players who want it.
Forced interaction only leads to proximity.
Players then choose to take it one way or the other.
As you say it CAN lead to a positive outcome, but it also CAN go the other way.
And that bit rests entirely in the hands of players.
Players decide the outcome.
You can take a horse to water, but cannot make it drink.
WE make the final decision.
All blizzard can do is give us the tools, which they are.
As shown by inflated item level requirements, there a lot of players actively taking it in an anti-social direction.
And that is why content without player-dictated requirements, content like random dungeons and LFR is more necessary than it has ever been.
The community is more self-destructive than it has been in years, if not ever.
And always blizzard to blame for decisions players make.
Idk it is just me, but OP said more about. "How make WoW unfriendly for casuals"
.
the best revamp?..
mythic only content shit is one of the many nails in this coffin.
No thank you. Overall, I like my 20-30 min. dungeons. I don't want to invest 2-3 hours on each and every one of them.
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh. You touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it.
Sovereign
Mass Effect
And you think any of that gives Blizzard a pass when it dosen't.
If you think that allowing groups to be formed anonymously is a social tool you don't understand the problem. They have introduced the very tools that remove the need to be social, not encourage it.
This game was a far more social game in the past, you said yourself "The community is more self-destructive than it has been in years, if not ever". So whats changed? - the only thing it can be the game itself. And only Blizzard can fix it, because they are the only ones that make changes. And within their game, within their rules and their world they can influence the decisions players make.
I personally really like Kara so far but I see why people are put off by the difficulty and length. While I personally think difficulty should be left alone and allowed to be over come as people get further geared and experince the length of the zone can lead to a lot of issues. Sure I have a guild. Sure many of us do. But a lot of people just don't have that and it being devided into 2 zones instead of just one would make that much easier for a majority of players. I mean I blew threw it with my main and alt both times in about an hour but I also usually had a mythic geared DPS or two in the group that made clearing it in an hour a pretty reasonable situation. But an hour is a pretty long time for a 5 man. I could tell even in my group of people used to raiding 2-3 hours at a stretch that it wasn't going to be something they were going to do on the regular simply because of the length of time it requires compared to its rewards.
While I love Karazhan I do think making every dungeon that way will make it lose the novelty, not to mention that having to go at snails pace because more than one pack of mobs is too dangerous isn't really all that entertaining honestly.
Good luck finding people for making Kara per 30minutes session.
Time spent =/= skill. Get over yourself -- 0/10.
EverQuest, City of Heroes, Star Wars Galaxies, EverQuest II, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Star Wars TOR, Guild Wars 2, Rift.
Sorry OP, but even if yours is the best post ever made in the whole universe, you shuold never call people "shit players" for not having time to "invest" in a game.
Never.
PS: even worse is that probably this kind of players will not affect your play-time in any way. So i don't see a reason to call them trash or shit.

Another thing, reading all the posts i see a common mistake, to put on the same table time and effort. Well good news, they are not the same thing.
I can play only 4 hour a day during week. This mean i have a very small time to play,so if i want to make a raid or a kara i need to plan it carefully, because sometime i can't even play, and of course i am not inside a raiding guild, because i don't want them to waste their time.
All this mean i put little time in this game.
Does this mean i put no effort?
No. Because i follow mmo-champion to know tactis before raids and dgs are out, i watch youtube videos, i enchant my gear, i do my AP world quest etc. etc.
This means i put effort in the game, even if i don't have much time to play it.
And my game time does not afflict the "pro players", because they A) probably play in a guild / B) if they pug, they usually try to find people that meet their standards.
So please, stop with this effort=play time bullshit.
I never said that you're a shit player or trash just because you can't invest time in the game, The shit and trash players i'm talking about are the ones that choose to not put in effort.
I have no problem with players that can only invest 1 or 2 hours a week in the game, in fact players that can play less are favoured by content that requires time and effort because when they log in they have always something to progress towards
I agree fully, and maybe Blizz will add in + for KZ 2.0 , but I mean, I just loved the great pugs, amazing skill to synergy - nobody raged, nobody blamed anything - we just ran back, killed the boss with more knowledge with a test run, and idk.. I haven't had this much fun in a 5 man for a lonnnnng time.
