whenever it's happened to me, it's been the first time i've tried to access dalaran from my class hall for the day.

i usually log out in my class hall, then, when i log in, do my class hall champion board thing, then take the portal to dalaran - this is where i run into ridiculously long loading screens.

last week at home, it was only 2 to 3 minutes, today, after 15 minutes (on my work pc, a little slower than my home pc but not by much) i quit and restarted wow only to find myself in dalaran.

additionally, after i've been through this long loading screen once, subsequent loading screens between my class hall and dalaran are as quick as you would normally expect, it is literally just the first time in a session that it happens.

So I was having problems like this. I have 16GB of ram so I decided to see if turning off the virtual ram (ie pagefile) in windows would help at all. It has worked wonders. I also made sure to clear my WoW cache after disabling the pagefile (tried clearing before disabling pagefile and didn't help so this wasn't the prob). In addition to fixing these loading problems, my whole computer runs much smoother. Just have to be careful to never get too close to 16 GB active memory, which isn't a problem as I have a second PC I multitask with. Not sure if this will help ya'll, but it's worth a shot.

I've got WoW installed on an SSD and before, my load screens were like 5-6 seconds max. After 7.1, they're like 10-15 seconds.

Seems tons of people are having problems with this.

Why Blizzard continues to be silent about it is beyond me.

Well, for me the game runs smooth. However at some point , possible around 7.1 , I t started to take a bit longer loading my character screen as I entered the game. Beside from that everything is quick, if not even faster then it was at 7.0

What a silly thing to say in an Mmo-champ thread that has a blizzard response in it.

Yeah, I was having the same issue the OP is having, but I just recently put WoW on a SSD and haven't had the problem since.

    Hi

I had the same problem, until I disabled Streaming in the Battlenet launcher

    1. Well excuse me for not reading the entire thread

    2. I don't see a blizzard response anywhere in this thread.

The loading times to most locations are not fine but they're "working" while the loading screen for Dalaran is still a mess.

Disabling the page file can have catastrophic results if Windows ever crashes, blue screens, etc. Data that is in memory that wasn't commited to file will be lost. The Pagefile is essential for your OS to work optimally. Even if you have 32GB of ram your OS will use the swap file.

There are reasons to have a pagefile, this is not one of them. Idk where you heard that. Windows dumps your memory when it crashes, pagefile or not.

Still happening for me when I port to Dalaran. I've tried disabling mods and nothing. Still ongoing.

    Fresh rig (I7 + 1080 + Samsung 850 SSD #epeen) and doesn't have any issues.

But some people in my guild reported the same longer loading, and some of them also have nice builds. Looks strangely random.

Well if only some of the people are experiencing this, it would seem to be on the users end some how. I don't see how it is an issue on Blizzards end unless all the people with the issue have some common component/ISP.

What I did was deleting the cache (as always) and disabling the streaming settings in the b-net launcher. Somehow it reactivated itself

It would be really nice if Blizzard could fix this asap, Dalaran is the central point of the whole expansion and getting stuck in loading screens when you want to enter Dalaran is not acceptable.

I tried all those "solutions" and nothing worked.
