OSX doesn't really have anything to do with Linux, it has to do with FreeBSD.
If you want to learn more about OSX's kernel this might be a good read (or maybe not that good).Originally Posted by FreeBSD_Wiki

Biggest issue is literally it's not anonymous as most telemetry is.

So, AMD is releasing their next generation of graphics cards (Vega 10, iirc?) when, again?
Excellent, I'll look forward to it. Hopefully it'll be at least in the same ballpark as Nvidia's mid to high end hardware (eg: 1070 for this generation). I was disappointed that the 480 was only equivalent to a 1060 or so.
Yeah, no kidding - that's just an absurd level of intrusion for a graphics card driver with no opt in/out option, or at least a notification. Not only that, but I don't exactly think of Nvidia as a company that has a lot of experience dealing with the security of user data. Sure, they have a lot of propriety data (card designs and the like), but that all originates within the company. I don't have the level of confidence they'll keep that PI data safe compared to a company like Google.
There are times I miss the days when electronics were dumber.
