.It's popular because it was one of the first of endless shounen. I, for example, grew up on it and that inevitably places it on a special pedestal.

Understandable, but I feel like there should be a difference between putting it on a special pedestal, and completely and utterly ignoring all faults about it.

Also as far as openings and endings go, I disliked the new Jojo's one at first, but then it kinda grew on me.

Finally got around to checking out Welcome to the NHK. I watched a few episodes of it while drunk years ago, so it's basically a new experience and I knew nothing about it going in. Really, really strong first episode. Something about Misaki, whenever she was on-screen, just really sells this vibe of pity and salvation. I'm hoping I'll have enough free time this week to finish it.

I've been really wanting to re-watch this (one of my favorite shows) but I suck at rewatching stuff unless it's with someone. Just need to get someone to watch it with me.

I somehow missed this post until Zath quoted it. I adore Misaki, and I don't say that about a lot of characters. I'm curious to see what you take away from it, because like Zath it's one of my favorites.

I'd say I'd be game for a rewatch with someone, but I've been so busy and my schedule is so hectic I barely get time for Euphonium, which is the only current season show I'm able to find time for.

Jojo one is something you would listen in 80ish, just in japanese. It fits more of the age its happening, similar like they did with that recent mafia anime.

Hajimete no Gal High School Romantic Comedy Manga Gets TV Anime



The romantic comedy begins with Junichi "Jun" Hashiba, an uncool high school student who frets about wanting to lose his virginity. Egged on by his friends, Jun goes on his knees and confesses his love to a classmate named Yukana Yame. The confession surprisingly works and the couple goes out. However, Jun finds himself in uncharted waters with Yame, a trendy and fashion-conscious "gal" (gyaru).

Same, the second one was great so I was disappointed when they started to use the third one, but it grew on me a bit.

Hah, implying I think! Good time to put a disclaimer I guess, I'm not very good at this "summary" thing.

I'm still in the same boat as before. It's a really enjoyable show, which is quite interesting since it's so vague on what the actual plot is, but it's just vague enough to keep my attention. Like, it's quite clear they have more going on than what they're actually letting you know, so I have to keep watching to find out.

I mean, it might help to highlight what I mean by comparing it to Taboo Tattoo, which is so far the only anime I actually dropped. In Taboo Tattoo, they shoved all the plot into the first few episodes just to try to make it interesting, and it flopped hard in my opinion because of that. Flip Flappers went the other route, just dropping bread crumbs worth of plot, yet packing the episodes with flashy action and well done animations. So not only is it interesting to watch, but they keep you following the bread crumbs.

Although, I do wish they'd stop just yelling each other's names as much :P
