thats like trading a pile of garbage for a pile of burnt garbage, euros are just as bad as the pound atm, and just about every country has an immigrant problem unless your gonna sail to an uncharted island in the middle of the pacific

I don't support any kind of ISP ban because they're ineffective and a waste of money and time. But you won't see me making counterarguments derived from sympathy because these kinds of fetishists feel victimized. They wank off to what most people find disgusting, I wouldn't be surprised if the ISP ban passes simply because nobody wants to admit they enjoy that kind of stuff without anonimity, thus no opposition is brought forth to parliament

Plenty of ISPs have an opt-in option for porn... don't see the point of out-right blocking it because of something as stupid as this...

Oh sure, there's the embarrassment factor involved in this, and no MP wants to be tainted with the "Minister for Porn" label by opposing it. That doesn't say much about our culture though, does it?

Not this, per se. They've said a lot about parental filters, which are partially implemented. This is another new step.

and alot of ISP filters dnt filter out HTTPS which ironicly porn sites was one of the first type of sites to have it apart from the obvious sites that did such as banks and other stuff like that, its a stupid law and a waste of taxpayers money to be fair maybe instead of making those stupid noises in the house of commons like a lion is having a stroke maybe they should go and learn how computers fucking work before making laws for them

I don't think it's so much a culture thing as it is a matter of human nature. Goat fuckers, pedophiles, homosexuals, necrophiliacs and incestive families have always been brutalized by cultures across the world. Nobody feels comfortable around people with a non-conventional sexual appetite, victimless or otherwise. An ISP ban is pointless, but isn't shocking to me that it'd be suggested.

I truly believe that the age of Dune will come upon us; Mentats will one day be as numerous as Lawyers, once our thirst for computers crosses the line from passion to perversion.

Yeah they tried this with torrent sites and all it means is you go to a proxy website before going to the torrent website. So gg Tories you've made me use an extra 5 seconds to get my torrents.

cos there out of touch with the internet the only way to get this to work is to ban proxy services in the UK aswell, which will never happen

Imagine having to use a proxy for every single site with adult content. It becomes a much bigger inconvenience at that point.

    That's before like 8pm I think.

    It's the same on SKY.

it just seems pointless, those age clarification things are so pointless and so is this bill. I think a lot of people won't read it and will think that means that pornhub will be getting blocked.

i wonder how that works with sites like imgur then? they dont do an age verification as far as i know, also reddit, has a lot of porn subreddits, im curious as to how this bill would work with sites that have porn on them, but are not porn sites.
Yeah it's silly really...so teens will have to spend a few extra seconds to see porn...it isn't going to stop anything.

I'm not entirely sure of your porn browsing habits, but I go on all of 2 porn websites, so an extra 10 seconds for me, let em have at it.

Reddit is capable of hosting adult content. Either Reddit will comply and institute age restriction functions, or just outright block all 'NSFW' content for Brits. Imgur is capable of hosting adult content, same again. Deviantart, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, Google Image Search. Any website with user created content has that capability.

If they aren't old enough to look at porn then they aren't old enough for those sorts of websites.

From the Business Insider UK: "Free speech advocates will be disappointed to discover that the proposed law has support among both Conservative and Labour MPs".

Nothing like blind political dogma to keep the fires burning, eh?

Don't see a topic on it. Discuss.
I feel sorry for the people of the UK living under an oppressive dictatorship which repeatedly denies their basic human rights, such as free speech.

That's simply not how our own education system views it. You get sex education before you're 18.

Also, I'm curious as to how many kids "accidentally stumbled upon" porn. It's probably been like 15+ years since I last accidentally saw porn when searching for something.

If kids are looking for it, then these filters etc will do nothing.
It would be hilarious if in the first week of the law implemented stories come out of how 15 year olds got past it untraced, showing their reason for implementing it useless
